Kashmir World Foundation Kashmir World Foundation (KwF) develops cutting-edge autonomous systems for global wildlife conservation and counter-poaching initiatives. Intern with us! 🌍🐾

Kashmir World Foundation (KwF) is a nonprofit conservation and technology organization founded in 2008 and now based in Greenwood. KwF develops and deploys advanced technologies to protect endangered species, combat wildlife trafficking, and strengthen ecosystem resilience worldwide. Our work integrates art, science, and engineering to create practical, field-ready solutions for conservation. We d

esign and implement real-world projects that combine artificial intelligence, bioacoustics, robotics, unmanned aerial systems, and sensor networks to detect threats such as poaching and illegal logging while monitoring biodiversity and ecosystem health. KwF leads hands-on workshops and global innovation challenges that train students, researchers, and conservation partners in drone design, AI-driven wildlife monitoring, embedded systems, and autonomous technologies. These programs equip participants with the technical skills needed to build mission-focused systems that directly support wildlife protection efforts. Kashmir Robotics, the science and wildlife security division of KwF, advances surveillance platforms, autonomous aircraft, ground sensors, and AI-based acoustic monitoring systems. In 2010, KwF expanded the Technology Assisted Counter Poaching (TACP) Network—originally founded in 1991—to provide engineering expertise and technical guidance to organizations protecting endangered species around the world. Through collaborative field expeditions, research initiatives, educational programs, and conservation technology deployments, Kashmir World Foundation works to safeguard wildlife, empower the next generation of innovators, and deliver measurable impact for endangered species and the ecosystems they depend on.

Curiosity doesn’t wait for permission.

At 15, Daan Eeltink, then a student at CSG Willem van Oranje in the Netherlands, was completing a bilingual program that required a two-week internship with an English-speaking organization. When in-person participation wasn’t possible, he asked one question: “How can I contribute?”

That question became a journey across AI, drones, software development, and rainforest fieldwork.

Today, he continues that journey while studying Bioinformatics at Leiden University.

Read the Full story:

Daan Eeltink wasn’t just interested in drones and coding. He was trying to understand something deeper: how technology could move beyond the classroom and into the real world, where it becomes complex, unpredictable, and meaningful.
