I am excited that we will once again host the Mulligans Fore Missions Annual Golf Tournament at The Links at Stoney Point on October 9, 2023. This year all proceeds will be used to support Pathway House (50%) and Greater Greenwood United Ministry (50%) (see the bottom of this post for information about both of these very worthwhile charities). PATHWAY HOUSE INFORMATION
Helping men, women and parents with children overcome homelessness.
Greenwood Pathway House is a compassionate, caring, Christian organization that provides short-term housing, food, support, and training for homeless men, women, and parents with children.
We offer a safe place to stay so people can focus on learning and putting into practice the skills necessary to transition from life on the streets to becoming a productive member of the community.
GREATER GREENWOOD UNITED MINISTRY INFORMATION
Greater Greenwood United Ministry (GGUM) opened the doors of its Crisis Ministry in January 1995.
Initially funded by 17 partner churches, GGUM provided various types of critical needs and financial assistance to residents of Greenwood County.
Today, the Crisis Ministry is funded by over 70 partner churches and provides financial assistance to those facing rent eviction or utility disconnection, an emergency food pantry, crisis intervention programs including job searches and financial coaching; and eyeglasses and eye screenings.
The Free Medical Clinic is medical home to anyone who cannot afford health insurance yet does not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare. The clinic serves as a one stop medical office for primary medical, internal medicine, gynecology, in-house pharmacy, laboratory services, eye care clinic, dental care clinic, and diabetic education.
