Reporters from Spotlight Delaware, a collaborative, nonprofit newsroom, will be onsite at Amity Coffee working on news coverage, while also being available to talk with the public about journalism and to hear ideas about stories that should be covered. It's your chance to answer the question: If you could be in charge of a reporter for one day, what would you have them report on?

Spotlight Delaware will be holding our first Pop-Up Newsroom in a coffee shop! On Thursday, Amity Coffee in Greenwood will be hosting Deputy Editor Tim Carlin, Reporter Maggie Reynolds, and Director of Community Engagement David Stradley. Stop by and chat over a delicious cup of coffee! ☕️

Reporters will be working on stories, but also talking with the public about their reporting and hearing issues that are a concern for the community. See you Thursday!

Check out this year’s schedule of events so far! Lots of info packed into one post, so read carefully. Can’t wait to see everyone out and about!!

Breaking News Greenwood! Save the date for our announcement of events for 2025! We heard your request and we are bringing back the Greenwood Market and this year it will be a Farmers/Flea Market. The dates are the 3rd Saturday of each month May-August with the final market on September 20th which will also be Greenwood Day! We have live music signed up for Greenwood Day and it you can already feel the excitement for this event! Also the Greenwood Christmas parade will be Dec. 12th so start working on those parade ideas with the theme this year of A Storybook Christmas! We are looking for vendors for the farmers/flea market and interested parties may email [email protected] or contact Town hall for a registration form. There is no charge to set up and spaces are limited so please sign up soon. These events require alot of planning so we have an early start and we also plan on mixing in some misc. events including outdoor movie nights and a few other things we have in the works so stay tuned for those announcements. Looking forward to the community coming together and enjoying all of these great events!

We have heard that there is a person going door to door in town, claiming they are with Delmarva Power. We do not have confirmation that this person is actually a Delmarva Power employee, and considering this is being done on the weekends, it has thrown up some red flags for residents.
Please be mindful of ANY personal information you share with solicitors. If you have questions about your electric bill, please contact the company directly, to keep your accounts safe.
Yes, Greenwood does have a no solicitation ordinance, however recent developments in Delaware pose an issue with enforcement.
