Katie Kelleher has joined the World Water Classic every year since 2021. She has spent her career in water treatment and believes the industry "should take a leading interest in solving and investing in the global water crisis."

She keeps showing up because "there are solutions with the right amount of investment and resources." This year, Katie is fundraising again; her goal is to raise $2,000, and she is currently at $660. But Katie isn't alone. More than 25 people and teams are currently fundraising to end the long walk for water.

Ending the walk for water takes partnership, and each of you plays an important role. This weekend is your last chance to register for the World Water Classic. You can support a fundraiser through October 31st.

"Anything you do in this life revolves around water," says Didacienne.

Not long ago, she spent two hours a day walking for water, and she often got sick from drinking unsafe water. But her story changed. Today she runs the local water point in Rulindo, Rwanda. The income built her home and supports her children's future.

In only three clicks and 15 seconds, you can support more people like Didacienne. Use the DAF Pay option and your gift will be on its way.

Turn your miles into something that matters.

Around the world, women and girls walk miles every day just to collect water for their families. For many girls, that starts as early as age four. From there, every aspect of a young girl’s life – schooling, physical safety, health, economic opportunity – is impacted by the lack of access to safe water and sanitation.

Water For People created the World Water Classic to bring attention to the walks women and girls do each day to get water – and to invite people to help change this reality.

Becky ran 6K to raise awareness of the distance millions of women and girls walk to collect water for their families. For some, it's how their day begins, and it's not by choice.

The long walk for water means less time away from school, economic opportunities, and health. We want to end it. Join Becky and Water For People for the World Water Classic. You can choose to walk, run, ride, or get creative! Each kilometer matters.

Robert has already run 6K for clean water and sanitation for Everyone, Forever, by joining Water For People's World Water Classic. A virtual 6K walk/run or 60K ride that raises awareness about the long walk for water many women and girls must endure to collect water for their families.

Every single day, girls as young as 4 join women walking an average of 6 kilometers for water. You, too, can help raise awareness about the long walk for water by joining the World Water Classic.
