The accuser wants us to define ourselves in light of our worst sin.

He’s the one who after we fail, comes over to us and says, “That thing you just did? That’s who you are.”

Jesus has a different name for us: “I am new.”

Our sins don’t define us. His love defines us.

Brothers and sisters, I have a radical proposition for you.

The love that you and I were born to find, the most beautiful love story ever told, the best news in human history—you’re going to find it right here in your Catholic faith.

And that’s not just a cute way to understand Catholicism or Christianity.

It’s the only way.

Society tells us that marriage is about finding that one perfect person. Actually, it’s about perfecting YOU. And this is something that often takes people years into marriage to figure out!

When you find someone to marry, you might think that person is God’s healing balm for all your wounds, someone who’ll make all the hurt go away. Listen up—in reality, your spouse is the diagnosing finger of God. They’re going to reveal those wounds to you so that you—and God—can deal with them.

And you know what? That’s a good thing.

Trying to figure out what to do with your life, or who to spend it with? Then discern by doing.

Just take steps! Don’t get caught in some “discernment tornado” where you’re putting crazy pressure on yourself that there’s one perfect script God has written for your life.

If you ARE waiting to discover that one all-perfect “Plan A,” then you’re living a fear-based relationship with God.

Would a loving father want that for you?

So just get moving, because your Heavenly Father loves you and has your back!

With the great Feast of Corpus Christi coming up, now is a great time for all of us to reflect on what is REALLY happening at Mass.

Because listen—the way we usually talk about it, we have the whole thing backward. We think we’re receiving Jesus.

But actually, it’s Jesus himself, Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, who is receiving us.

Joy is a summons to spiritual battle. Did you know that?

On the spiritual battlefield of today’s world, the devil is afraid of strategic Christians. And he’s also afraid of well-educated Christians and wealthy Christians.

But he is terrified of joyful Christians.

When something is made for one purpose and it's us.

He could have left us with sin and no Savior.

From the very start, the God who made space and time had a plan to bring us back to himself.

For God so loved YOU that he gave his only Son.

There is a God. And thank God there’s a God.

The fact that there’s a God shows us that life has meaning and destiny.

Don’t get me wrong—there are atheists who are good people, who are altruistic and have a sense of purpose.

But if you want to get past the idea that you’re a cosmic accident, you have to believe in God.

Anne Frank once said, “Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” Anne Frank, of all people.

In the same way, if you read the writings of the early Christians, you’ll see they didn’t obsess about the evil that Nero was doing. They paid a lot more attention to the good that God was doing.

So what about us—what excuse do we have? Do we fill our hearts and minds with all that we hate? Or do we fill them with what we love?

You probably don’t know the name Jan Tyranowski. He was an ordinary man who lived in a Polish town.

Jan felt God leading him to start a study group for young men who wanted to learn more about the faith, so he did. He led it for a little while, and then he died. Jan’s work bore no obvious fruits.

Except that decades later, the whole world got to know one of his students—Pope St. John Paul II.

The devil loves when you underestimate yourself. “Who, me? Little me?” Don’t fall for it. You matter more than you’ll ever know.

People overcomplicate the search for “The One.”

They might say, “I have to have financial stability first.” Or they’ll say, ”I have to have all my issues resolved first.”

But what if that means you’re looking down—not up—when God brings you the right person?

And what if recognizing the right person was actually a lot simpler than you thought?

I think we’re the first era in history to have so many people say, “God, if you’re really there, why don’t you reveal yourself to us?”

How do you think he’d respond to that?

Well, let me tell you—I have an idea.
