Gold Star Gamers was born when a 9-year-old boy, Duffy, lost his dad and gaming partner to a traumatic accident. Duffy processed his grief by gaming with his father after the incident, and with other people after his father passed away. Gold Star Gamers helps kids rebuild connections and self-esteem while finding joy again in life. Mentorship - Kids are partnered with military gamers for one-on-on
e game time which allows kids to continue having a connection to the military world. Training Camps and one-week-long Virtual Summer Camps - These camps are developmental and focus on game IQ, processing speed, communication, and in-game strategy. Kids will play against other gold star kids while being coached by one of the many volunteers. The Flagship Program and Tournaments - This is where we bring kids together with the military and pro-gaming community for larger-than-life pro events. Kids get to compete in games that are streamed on Twitch, win prizes and cash prizes, and meet celebrities. Many of these competitions are around the United States and include an all-expense paid trip for the child and one guardian.
