Global Citizens Initiative GCI empowers young global citizens to be lifelong ethical leaders of positive change.

GCI's mission is to empower young global citizens from all sectors of society to be lifelong leaders of positive change. We envision a global community where individuals embrace their unique colorful stories and cultures as they design and implement solutions to global issues that transcend social, economic and political boundaries. We yearn for a more peaceful and stable world of tomorrow, founded on the universal acceptance of shared fundamental values and a common denominator: that we are all human. We prize and celebrate innovative thinking, individual initiative, scholarship, religious plurality, cultural diversity and environmental sustainability.

That’s a wrap on the GCI Alumni Celebratory Gala! What a joy it was to gather in New York with so many familiar faces from across GCI’s history. Nearly half the room was filled with GCI Alumni representing different years of the Fellowship, alongside friends, supporters, and members of our community who have been part of this journey.

Seeing our Alumni together again, hearing their stories, and learning where life has taken them since GCI was a wonderful reminder of why this community was created more than a decade ago.

Thank you to everyone who traveled to be with us, joined us in celebrating, participated in the program, and helped make the evening so special. We are deeply grateful to have shared it with you.

And to our Alumni, wherever in the world you may be: you will always be part of GCI.

Dr. Linda A. Hill is taking the stage alongside an incredible lineup of women at the upcoming Forbes Power Women’s Summit, including Serena Williams, Jennifer Garner, Cindy Crawford, Christina Koch, and other influential leaders from across industries.

We are proud to welcome Dr. Hill to our own stage this October as a featured speaker at the GCI Alumni Celebratory Gala. A longtime member of the GCI community and one of the world’s leading experts on leadership and innovation, Linda will join us as we celebrate GCI’s history, impact, and legacy.

More than a celebration, the Gala is a nonprofit event in support of the GCI community and our alumni, who continue to put their leadership into action as changemakers doing positive work around the world.

Join us on October 9 at the Harvard Club of New York City for this special evening celebrating where GCI has been and the community carrying its impact forward.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been one month since the 2026 GCI Summit!

For nine unforgettable days in St Andrews, our Fellows came together from around the world to learn, connect, challenge themselves, and begin imagining how they can create meaningful change in their own communities. We loved watching this remarkable group embrace every part of the Summit experience.

And the Summit was only the beginning! As our Fellows embark on the next chapter of their Fellowship journey, they’ll spend the coming months developing and implementing their Glocal Service Projects (GSPs), putting the ideas, skills, and connections they built at the Summit into action in their own communities.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Linda A. Hill as a featured speaker at the GCI Alumni Celebratory Gala this October in New York City!

Dr. Hill is a renowned leadership expert, Harvard Business School professor, and bestselling co-author of Genius at Scale: How Great Leaders Drive Innovation (March 2026). Her groundbreaking work explores what it takes to lead innovation, unlock collective genius, and build organizations where bold ideas can thrive.

Dr. Hill is also a longstanding supporter and friend of GCI. Over the years, she has joined us at multiple GCI Summits, sharing her expertise and insights with Fellows as they explore what it means to lead and create meaningful change. We are especially excited to welcome her back as a speaker at the Gala as we bring together the GCI community to celebrate more than a decade of global citizenship, leadership, and impact.

Today, Fellows spent the morning in Harkness discussions, exploring topics like the decline of the Scottish Sea Trout, the global health landscape, and importance of recognizing and understanding different perspectives.

In the afternoon, we welcomed leaders from Social Enterprise Scotland for presentations and a panel discussion on using social enterprise to create lasting impact. Hearing from entrepreneurs, policymakers, and community leaders gave Fellows a firsthand look at how innovative ideas can strengthen communities and how personal interests can grow into projects that make a real difference.
