It is the Mission of the Greenwich Arts Council to promote the visual, performing and literary arts in our community by encouraging artists, presenting their work and building audiences for the arts To fulfill this Mission GAC:
•Offers programs that showcase the vibrancy and broad range of the arts
•Is receptive to new forms of artistic expression
•Provides opportunities to support artists’ develo

pment
•Recognizes outstanding artistic accomplishment and those who support the arts
•Enhances arts education and outreach for young people
•Collaborates on arts-related projects with other organizations
•Provides studios, exhibition and performance space for individual artists and groups
•Engages in outreach to bring the arts to diverse audiences, seniors and the handicapped
•Promotes the preservation and appreciation of public art
•Serves as a resource for information about area artists and cultural events
•Advocates on behalf of the arts at the local, state and federal levels
•Educates the public about the arts

🪞Reflections in Art 🧑‍🎨

“The pages of a written book are images that I like to incorporate into my artworks. This is because when making paper, the sheets of homemade paper pulp are from a small screen frame. Making paper at home could be the start of a small notebook or journal. The dried flowers are also a rather dated old granny thing. These are all from memories of the past, that take us back to a simpler un-technological life.”

“Painting makes my heart feel at peace and calms my soul. I feel happy and grateful to be alive everyday that I paint. I received my degree in Nihonga or traditional Japanese painting from Tama Art University in Tokyo.
I transitioned to watercolor, then moved to oil, and now work in acrylic, I enjoy experimenting with various colors, and the painting you saw yesterday may be totally different the next day.”
