Annual Spring clean-up of Byram Park scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd from 9-12pm. Volunteers needed to help w**d and prune beach entry gardens, as well as pick up trash in the park. Great opportunity for teens to get volunteer hours!

Thanks to the volunteers that helped in the transformation of the Byram Park Pollinator Garden last week. We sectioned the garden, ID’d existing perennials and w**ds, transplanted Chokeberry and Threadleaf Amsonia ‘Blue Star’ and w**ded.

The next volunteer date is Tuesday, June 18th from 9am-11am. The focus will be on transplanting and dividing existing perennials and planting new plants. We have a lot of donations from Greenwich Land Trust and Greenwich Parks and Rec to get in the ground.

Please let me know if you plan on attending. Plan on bringing gloves, spades, shovels, and a water bottle. If you do not have a park pass to access to gain entry to a Greenwich Park and/or need equipment, let me know.

Thanks and regards,
Trisha

A big ’thank you’ to all the volunteers that came out to help us clean up and beautify Byram Park on Saturday! The weather didn’t stop us. Together we w**ded and planted native plants in the rock garden, w**ded the parking lot beds and picked up lots of trash.

We couldn’t have done it without our partners and appreciate all of their support. The new planter designs are courtesy of Greenwich Green & Clean. Pollinator Pathway and Waste Free Greenwich raised awareness on their causes. Greenwich Land Trust donated New England Aster Seedlings to all the children attending. Byram Shore Boat Club hosted a delicious BBQ for the community, an annnial tradition. The team from Town of Greenwich was instrumental in achieving all that we accomplished and are continuing work this week.
