The passing of Dolly Parton profoundly saddens United Way of Pitt County. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she gave thousands of children in Pitt County the opportunity to begin their literacy journey with books of their very own.
Since 2016, United Way of Pitt County has helped deliver 726,059 books to children across our community through the Imagination Library. We are deeply grateful to have been part of Dolly’s vision and to have witnessed firsthand the lasting impact of her generosity on children and families in Pitt County.
Dolly Parton’s legacy will live on through every child who opens a book, discovers a new story, and learns to dream. Her commitment to children, literacy, and the power of imagination has touched generations, and her impact will continue to be felt in our community for years.

When a community comes together, amazing things happen. 💙📚

A heartfelt thank you to Greenville Utilities Commission (GUC) for partnering with United Way of Pitt County to help equip local students with the school supplies they need to start the school year with confidence. Together, we’re investing in more than backpacks and notebooks—we’re investing in dreams, opportunities, and the future of Pitt County.

Because every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and succeed.
