Meet our newest rescue resident - Pixie, Hedgehog!
Hedgehogs are adorable mammals that have quills for protection. Quills are made up of keratin, just like our hair and nails. Hedgehogs do not shoot out their quills like porcupines and are pretty timid creatures.

MEET MINGA! Blue Fronted Amazon Parrot!

Minga has been with us since 2012 from a family that was no longer able to care for her. Amazon Parrots are one of the most social species of parrots and are one of the most vocal species of parrots! These parrots usually live in communities down in Brazil to numbers upwards of 100 parrots! These are very social creatures, very loud creatures, and are known for their ability to closely mimic specific voices/sounds!

Attached is also the flier for our PAMPERED CHEF FUNDRAISER! We are halfway through the fundraiser month and would love to get more orders placed! For each purchase a percentage will be donated directly to the animals and for each meal mix bought donates a free meal to those in need!

❓Can you guess what’s watching you❓

Correct! Meet one of our Crested Geckos! Crested Geckos live for 15-20 years, live in the tropical rainforests, and can grow up to 10inch long. Crested Geckos are a difficult reptile to care for due to the amount/specific care that they need for proper growth. Crested Geckos are expert climbers and jumpers as well with using their tails as a main utensil for movement!

Meet Heidi- our newest African Sulcata Tortoise! Heidi was found roaming a community garden, likely dumped because she was getting bigger. She is actually still tiny compared to other adult Sulcatas - they are the third largest tortoise in the world and can exceed 100 lbs.

🐍Happy World Snake Day!🐍

Snakes play an important ecological role in the wild, taking care of rodents & being prey themselves for larger predators. There are more than 4,000 species of snakes worldwide - here are just some of our rescued snakes. Most of our snakes have come to us after their owner could no longer care for them.

Meet Red and Shadow. Red (on the left) is a Scarlet Macaw and Shadow (the dancer) is a Green Winged Macaw. These two came to us from a family that fell ill and was no longer able to care for them. The family reported to us that they have been feeding the Macaws human food which led to significant health issues. These two were some of the hardest birds for us to train, but with dedication to training we are now able to go in with them and occasionally handle!
