Dear Community Partners and Members,

The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina (AMEXCAN) is excited to offer opportunities for individuals to get involved in meaningful community programs this year. We are seeking volunteers to assist with various activities, including our annual community events, food drives, sewing classes, esl classes, promotores, tutoring, youth activities and more. These activities will serve families in serval counties such as Pitt, Wilson, Triangle area, Cumberland, Beaufort & Greene, providing enriching experiences that foster education, cultural connection, and community engagement.

Volunteering with AMEXCAN offers individuals the chance to:
• Develop leadership and teamwork skills while working with diverse community groups
• Enhance resume with valuable experience in community service
• Support the personal growth of latino families by creating memorable impacts
• Receive service hours, perfect for students looking to give back to the Community

Volunteers will assist with activities at events, tutor children, help coordinate event logistics, engage with families, support staff members, and help to create a welcoming environment for all attendees. Their support is instrumental in ensuring the success of these programs. We invite individuals to participate and make a difference in our community! El día jueves 14 de mayo estaremos iniciando las sesiones educativas en salud 🌟

Son 8 sesiones donde estaremos informando y enseñando cuidados, prevención y control de hipertensión, nutrición y enfermedades 🙌

Las clases son cada Jueves, Mayo de 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm en la oficina de AMEXCAN, 105 E Arlington Blvd, Greenville NC 27858.

Pronto estaremos abriendo la oficina el día jueves durante toda la jornada laboral para hacer revisiones de presión, glucosa y oxígeno en la sangre.

Dear Community Members and Partners,

The NC Latino Health Alliance (NCLHA) would like to cordially invite you to join in our upcoming NCLHA meeting. This meeting will take place on Monday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m. through Zoom, which follows our meeting pattern of the last Monday of each month for the year of 2025. This program falls under the Association of Mexicans in North Carolina (AMEXCAN) organization Health pillar which is one of its six pillars.

*This upcoming meeting we will be joined by invited guest speaker Yazmin Rico, Director, community Engagement& Impact with CONE HEALTH FOUNDATION. She will provide information on the foundation. She will also speak on the work and priority areas they focus on.

We will open the meeting with “who is on the call” a form of introducations to get to know who is joining in. to Afterwards Yazmin Rico will provide her presentation which will be followed by a 5-10 minute Q&A session. We will finish by sharing upcoming events or updates from AMEXCAN and all partners attend the meeting. Dear Community Members and Partners,

The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina, Inc. (AMEXCAN) is delighted to extend an invitation to our Summer 2025 Intern Reception, a celebration of the remarkable achievements of our interns over the past 11 weeks. On Friday, August 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM. This celebration will take place at our office building located on 105 E Arlington Blvd Suite A Greenville NC 27858. The RSVP form information is below.

This event serves as an opportunity to showcase the impactful projects and programs led by our interns from East Carolina University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and George Washington University during the summer semester. These initiatives have been instrumental in advancing AMEXCAN’s objectives and implementing new projects that benefit the community.

The interns will be presenting their work and sharing reflections on their enriching experiences at AMEXCAN. We take immense pride in their accomplishments and invite you to join us in celebrating their dedication and contributions.
