Tonight, The Art of US: Spirit of Unbridled — A Life Worth Seeing opened to a beautiful reception at Sand Lake Center for the Arts.

Our gratitude to the local makers, businesses, volunteers, and partners who helped bring this exhibition to life: Sand Lake Center for the Arts, McGreevy Pro Lab, Corner Gateway Printing, Sam at Delmar Frame Shop, Honest Weight Food Co-op, and FireHorse Rescue Kits.

This is what community makes possible. A life worth seeing. A movement to see horses differently.

She was ours. She was safe. She was coming home.

Before leaving the auction, we brought our pregnant Thoroughbred mare fresh Sanctuary water with Gallagher's Water added for hydration.

For mama. For baby. For the journey home. ❤️

SAY HELLO TO ZEUS & PEPPY 🩵💙

This weekend, Zeus and Peppy (Skunk) stood in the uncertainty of an auction barn, their futures resting on what would happen when their numbers were called.

Today, they are no longer part of that cycle.

They will not be sent back to camp. They will not be passed from hand to hand, their lives determined by the next bid, the next buyer, the next unknown destination.

Because YOU gave, Zeus and Peppy have stepped out of that uncertainty and into the protection of Unbridled Sanctuary.

Now, the auction aisle gives way to grass beneath their feet, sunlight across their backs, quiet meals, companionship, and the beginning of something every horse should know: safety.

To every person who contributed to our Auction Fund, shared our appeal, encouraged US, prayed for these horses, or stood beside this work in any way: THANK YOU 🩵💙

📷 These beautiful photographs of Zeus and Peppy at grass are the first pages of that new chapter made possible by You & US.

Nighttime tuck-in, across the state🌙🐴

One of the sweet souls we brought to safety from the auction just days ago is settling into quarantine tonight.

This beautiful big Thoroughbred mama is quite pregnant. She is soft, gentle, and quietly watchful. The kind of mare who makes you wonder about all the chapters that came before this one. No doubt, she has a very big story to tell.

For tonight, though, there is hay beneath her nose, a bed beneath her feet, and people nearby who are paying attention. She can simply eat, rest, and begin to understand that the road has changed.

A very special thank you to Paulina and Michelle, who are caring for our new arrivals in quarantine and tending to the countless details that make these first fragile days safe and peaceful.

And to YOU, dear friends, thank you for standing with the Horses of UNBRIDLED. Rescue is only the first step. The sustaining work begins the moment a horse comes home: quarantine, veterinary care, nourishment, observation, time, and the quiet rebuilding of trust.

Tonight, this mama and the little life she carries are surrounded by care because YOU are part of US.

Sleep well, sweet girl.
We are listening. Your story begins again here. ❤️

✨ OFFICIAL NEWS FOR CINNAMON SPARKLES ✨

Some goodbyes are exactly what Sanctuary is meant to make possible.

Cinnamon Sparkles came to Unbridled at only about a year and a half old, rescued from the slaughter yards of Bowie, Texas.

She arrived sunburned, thin and depleted, a young body already carrying evidence of how badly a horse can be failed before her life has scarcely begun.

And yet, beneath all of that was beautiful soul waiting to be recognized and respected.

Curious. Bright. Social. Interested in everything. A little mare with opinions, intelligence and an unmistakable appetite for life.

It has been our privilege to care for her and nurture her journey.

With nourishment, veterinary care, training, friendship and the security of Sanctuary, Cinnamon grew into the beautiful young mare we knew was waiting inside that frightened little horse.

And this summer, she thrived at Camp Cedarbrook in the Adirondacks.

She learned. She explored. She carried children. She built confidence. She discovered just how much she enjoys having people of her own to love—and being loved right back.

And there, Sarah fell in love with her Cinnamon✨

Today, we are overjoyed to share that Cinnamon Sparkles has officially been adopted.

For the next year, Cinnamon will live in Pennsylvania, where she already has a wonderful group of little people to fuss over her, love on her and call her their own. Then, when Sarah graduates from college, the two will reunite and begin the next leg of their journey together.

We also owe an especially heartfelt thank-you to Mr. Bopp, whose generous sponsorship made so much of Cinnamon’s growth possible.

Mr. Bopp’s support helped provide the extra care she needed as a growing youngster, her transportation, her summer at Camp Cedarbrook and the experiences that prepared her for this very moment.

That is what sponsorship can become.

Not simply support for today, but preparation for tomorrow.

Watching Cinnamon leave brought tears. We know these horses intimately. We stand beside them while their bodies mend, their confidence returns and their personalities bloom.

But loving a horse also means knowing when it is time to open the gate.

Cinnamon was ready.
And so was her future.

To every person who supports Unbridled—through your gifts, your volunteerism, your encouragement, your sharing, and through our 21 Club—this is your good news, too.

You helped rescue her.
You helped nourish her growing body.
You helped give her time, safety and opportunity enough to become fully herself.

This is The Power of You & US.

And as with every horse adopted through Unbridled, Cinnamon will always have Sanctuary to call home.

Today, one more little mare has left the nest.
Fly, Cinnamon Sparkles. ✨

Go show the world what can happen when a rescued horse is not simply saved, but seen, supported and given the freedom to become.

❤️🐴

Fudge Ripple just celebrated six years safe at Unbridled. Six years of life she has claimed with grit, humor, and a fierce will to keep going.

Now 28, Ripple is navigating the realities of seniority: arthritis, stiffness, and the changing needs of an aging body. Our job is to meet her there. With attentive daily observation, supportive wellness care, veterinary guidance, comfort therapies, and meals adapted for senior teeth, including her absolutely mandatory shredded carrots, we adjust around her.

With that steady support, Ripple is finding more ease in her step again.

Just over one year ago, our founder, Susan Kayne, whispered, “I will not leave without you,” to a mare tied in the back of an auction barn.

That mare was Joyfull. Growing quietly inside her was Spirit.

Today, he gallops through a field made safe by the love and stewardship of this community. YOU are part of what happened next.

Susan tells the story in her latest Substack column. Read, share, and fall in love with horses all over again … they need you, your voice, and your support.
