Today we celebrate National Meringue Pie Day by honoring our partner Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop on Augusta Street Greenville. From buttercream, to snickerdoodle, and yes, even a Lemon Meringue pie, this team makes sweet treats and also, sweetly donates them to our neighbors in need through Loaves & Fishes.

In honor of Water Quality Month, we are thanking our community's water protectors including , Greenville County Soil & Water Conservation District, , Reedy River Water Quality Group, & !

🥤🍱🍔🍟🌭🍕 Combined food preparation and serving workers, including fast food (26% of this sector)

AND...31% of Greenville County SNAP recipients are households with children under ten years old.

For every meal the Feeding America network provides, SNAP provides nine.

Justine Koksal, who leads operations at the Food Bank of the Albemarle in northeast North Carolina, sees every day how the two work together. Food banks can respond in a moment of need, while SNAP gives families the ability to plan ahead and choose what works for them.

"SNAP provides families with the dignity to select foods that are most appropriate for their household, whether it's because of their cultural preferences or health needs," Justine says.

Two systems, one goal: keeping families moving forward.
