When I say I’m exhausted I mean EXHAUSTED! We got up at 4 am. Animals in car and leave by 5. Drove 2 1/2 hours to spay/neuter clinic. Checked in dogs, walked each one to the ramp. Warned them about our biter Chewie. Checked on cats, handed them off. Drove to Wilmington, got some supplies for the rescue to help with paperwork and scheduling. Drove to the local shelter where they so graciously let us pick up some items they didn’t need. Drove back to clinic. Watched mama goat struggling through our goat cam to see how she’s coming along, looks like labor is starting. Stressed out about how far I am and if she kids while I was gone, friend offered to stop over if needed. Got a call about a Guinea pig needing a place to go. Same friend picked up guinea pig for me and took back to the rescue along with some donations from Tractor Supply in Washington. Got dogs at 3, had to physically get Chewie from their back room because they were not risking getting bit again. They mentioned how I did warn them but they didn’t realize he would be that bad since he’s so sweet. Got all dogs in car, got cats. Everyone did great, they all acted like nothing ever happened. Headed back to the rescue. One by one people picked up their babies. Ferret baby that came in sick yesterday is doing much better today and is trying to escape. I just want to sit. All of this on less than 2 hours of sleep. Not sure how I did it. Babies are fixed and healthy and I got a thank you by the clinic for doing what we do so that made me perk up. If only I could sleep right now but I have animal and human babies to attend to. Whew!
