New adventure today, we participated in Fuquay Varina’s First Friday Block Party! It was super hot and we resorted to ice cubes in a fan for the 2 kittens we had with us but luckily a local nearby bar let us take turns bringing babies inside to get some fresh air.

We met lots of very welcoming people who absolutely loved all of our critters from our ferret to our rats, guinea pig and cats. Everyone got lots of snuggles and socialization.

We were able to place Otis the ferret and Addison the kitten in foster to adopt which was amazing!

We also got lucky enough to recruit a volunteer for the day who made himself right at home by helping introduce the babies to visitors and explain to everyone just how loving and sweet they all were. He was very excited to help and did a wonderful job!

Okay guys, this beautiful girl needs us. ❤️

Phoebe is a sweet, energetic 2-year-old girl whose mama is currently facing some medical challenges and, through no fault of her own, is no longer able to care for Phoebe the way she wants to. Right now, her mama needs to focus on her health—but instead, she’s worrying about her baby and whether Phoebe will be okay.

Phoebe is currently staying at a boarding facility, and this sweet girl deserves to be back in a home.

And she has SO much going for her! 🐶❤️

Phoebe needs a home that can give her the love, attention and activity an energetic young girl needs. Finding the right family for her would not only change Phoebe’s life—it would give her mama the peace of mind of knowing her baby is safe, loved and happy so she can finally put her energy toward taking care of herself.

Sometimes helping an animal also means helping the person who loves them enough to admit they can’t give them what they need right now. ❤️

A big shout out to another wonderful donor! This picture does not do the pile justice, when we got back from the vets office this was waiting on our porch. I’ve never been so excited to see paper towels, wipes, and puppy pads. These are items we run out of very fast so donations like these absolutely 100% are appreciated and help tremendously!

🩷 Thank you to whomever ordered some items off of our rescue wishlist and had them delivered! We received cleaning wipes and kitten food and immediately put them to use!

Currently our rescue is in desperate need of:

Paper towels
Rat food
Dry puppy food
Puppy pads

Today was a bittersweet day. We helped drive another rescue to the spay/neuter clinic to bring a dog for surgery. While there we met with a foster who took two of our skittish pups into her home to not just foster but to potentially adopt. She was also kind enough to temporarily take our other skittish dog Lola until her potential adopter was feeling better.

After running an errand we received an emergency call and message from the clinic that the dog had a severe reaction during
surgery and she needed to be taken to an emergency vet ASAP. They had her stable for us until we got back and helped rush her to the car so we could make our way 30 minutes away to the nearest ER. Thankfully the baby made it there and was treated and is being kept overnight but appears to be recovering well.

We went for a routine surgery, found 3 skittish dogs a place to thrive and ended up leaving with no dogs but all were in good hands.

Just another day in rescue.
