Howard Franklin Moore

Howard Franklin Moore passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, at the age of 91, following a brief illness at Piedmont Post Acute. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine Berick Moore, formerly of Detroit, Michigan.

Howard is survived by his children: Larry F. Moore (Sylvia) and David H. Moore, both of Greenville, South Carolina; Cathy Luker (Gerald) of Piedmont, South Carolina; and Kelly-Jean Moore (Justin) of Charleston, South Carolina.

He is also survived by his stepchildren: Gary Brooks (Trish) of Maryland; Tony Brooks (Renee) of Georgia; and Gale Parker (Aubrey) of Anderson, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Moore (Sonya) of Hillsborough, North Carolina; his daughters, Terri Picklesmire (David) of Piedmont, South Carolina, and Bonny Davis of Greenville, South Carolina; and his stepdaughter, Audrey Brooks Felmet of Columbia, South Carolina.

Howard lived a full and adventurous life. As a young man, he proudly served in the United States Navy, traveling the world aboard naval vessels. Following his military service, he earned an engineering degree and later became a licensed pilot. He was an avid golfer, a dedicated gardener, and a passionate sports fan—especially of the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Howard enjoyed a long and successful career as an engineer with Westinghouse Nuclear Power before retiring. He and Elaine spent many happy years in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, enjoying retirement together before returning to the Upstate to be closer to family. They spent their final years surrounded by the love and support of those who meant the most to them.

In addition to his children and stepchildren, Howard leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and more than 30 great-great-grandchildren.

Howard will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and the many lives he touched throughout his 91 years.

Julie Seay Mattison, known lovingly to family and friends as Julie, passed away in Boiling Springs, South Carolina, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, love, and devotion that will be remembered always.Born on February 21, 1980, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Julie brought warmth and gentle strength into the lives of those around her from the very beginning. She carried herself with a caring spirit and a thoughtful heart, and those who knew her quickly came to appreciate the sincerity and compassion that defined her. Throughout her life, Julie was the kind of person who made others feel seen, valued, and comforted simply by her presence.Julie was a devoted mother whose greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her sons, Malachi Jamin Brooks, Julian Zane Bishop, and Warren Jasper Bishop, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her deceased brother, James (Jamie) Mattison, and Andrew (Crystal) Mattison. Her late grandparents, Willard and Frances Blackwood Mattison, and Marvin and Sue Horton Seay. She loved her children deeply and took great pride in them, offering encouragement, support, and unconditional love throughout their lives. Her role as a mother was central to who she was, and she embraced it with tenderness, patience, and unwavering devotion. In addition to her immediate family, Julie leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Julie is also survived by her mother, Susan Seay Mattison, who shared in her life’s joys and challenges and cherished their bond. She was preceded in death by her father, James Robert Mattison, whose memory remained an important part of her family’s story. The love of her family shaped Julie’s life, and she, in turn, gave that love back generously and without hesitation. She was greatly loved by her family and will be missed by all.

Scottie D. Millwood, known affectionately as Scottie was born on January 5, 1966, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and passed away on June 13, 2026, in Inman, South Carolina.Scottie lived a life marked by love, humor, and steadfast faith. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him. Those who knew him will remember his kind heart, his easy smile, and the genuine warmth he shared with family and friends alike. He was a man who valued the simple joys of life and found meaning in the everyday moments spent with the people he loved most.He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Millwood, and his daughters, Lisa Thomas and her husband Logan, Emily Irick and her husband Roman, and Braylee Millwood. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Millwood; his sister, Tammy Colley and her husband Jeff Taylor; and his brothers, Jerry Millwood and his wife Ashleigh, and Paul Millwood and his wife Teressa. He also leaves behind an uncle, aunts, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Scotty Millwood. Scottie cherished his family deeply, and his love for them was evident in the way he lived, worked, and cared for those entrusted to him.Scottie worked in pharmaceutical distribution at Padagis, where he was respected for his dedication and dependable work ethic. He approached his responsibilities with care and consistency, and he took pride in doing his part well. His coworkers and those who knew him through his work will remember him as someone who could be counted on and who brought a steady, positive spirit to the workplace.Outside of work, Scottie enjoyed a variety of interests that reflected his personality and the things that made him happiest. He found peace and satisfaction in woodworking, where he could create with his hands and take pride in a job well done. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors, as well as yardwork, which allowed him to keep busy and appreciate the beauty of his surroundings. He was also a loyal fan of Alabama football and NASCAR racing, and he enjoyed following both with enthusiasm. These interests were part of the fabric of his life and brought him many moments of joy.Scottie will be remembered most for being loving, funny, and faith-filled. He had a way of making others feel welcome, and his humor often brightened the room. His faith was an important part of who he was, and it guided the way he treated others with compassion, patience, and grace. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, quiet strength, and a life lived with sincerity and heart.Though his passing leaves a deep void, the memories Scottie created will continue to bring comfort to those who knew and loved him. His family and friends will carry forward the lessons of his life, the sound of his laughter, and the example he set through his love and faith. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

A memorial service will be held on July 18, 2026, at Boiling Springs Church of Christ in Boiling Springs, SC.

John Allen Eastburn

John Allen Eastburn, 63, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on June 22, 2026, at his home in Easley. John was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on March 26, 1963. After graduating from Greenville High School in 1981, he went on to work many years at Southeastern Freight Lines. John married his loving bride, Pam, and raised their two children, Hunter and Rachel, together in Easley. John was an active member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and the Praise Sunday School Class along with his wife. He loved to keep up with NASCAR races and was an avid fan of Mark Martin. He took great pride in his Mustang, and loved his german shepherd, Nash. Since his Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2021, John has been able to spend more quality time with his family, and found so much enjoyment in the concerts, local theatre, and trips they took together. The family would like to thank his nurses at Agape Hospice and his one-on-one caregiver for the support and care they provided John during this season. John is survived by his wife of 33 years, Pam; his children, Hunter and Rachel; his sister, Tina Hamilton; his half-brother, Sean Eastburn; his step mother, Josie Eastburn; and a supportive extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Eastburn and Joyce Eastburn. A funeral service will be held at 6:15pm at Geer Memorial Baptist Church, 911 S. 5th Street, Easley, SC 29640, on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service starting at 5:30pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donation gifts be made in his memory to Rock Springs Baptist Church c/o Children’s and Youth Fund, 201 Rock Springs Road, Easley, SC 29642.

He lived a life marked by love, thoughtfulness, and generosity, and he will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him.Russell was a devoted husband to Rebecca Crumley, and together they shared a bond built on loyalty, companionship, and enduring love. He was a proud and caring father and stepfather, and his family was the center of his world. He is survived by his loving wife Rebecca; Tosha; Josh Batton; Michael Bryant; James Kurt Bryant and his wife Lacey; Rebecca Ann Marie Shumway, his granddaughter; Donald Scholl, his grandson; Ryan Shumway, his grandson; Arianna Batton, his granddaughter; Kaydin Bryant and Anthony Bryant, his grandchildren; and a special grandson who was the light of his life, Ryder Alexander Poling, who was truly the center of his life. Russell cherished his family deeply, and the love he gave them will remain a lasting part of their lives.Russell spent many years working as a truck driver until 2018, a career that suited his strong work ethic and steady nature. He took pride in his work and found comfort in the familiar rhythm of the road. He especially loved the smell of diesel and tar, scents that were tied to the life he knew and the work he respected. Those who knew Russell understood that he approached life with sincerity and quiet strength, and he carried himself with a kindness that made others feel valued.Outside of work, Russell found joy in simple pleasures that reflected his easygoing spirit. He loved playing baseball on his PS4, enjoying the game and the fun of competition in his own way. He also adored his cats, Coco and Mocha, who brought him comfort and companionship. These interests were a reflection of the warmth and tenderness that defined him, and they brought him happiness in the everyday moments of life.Russell will be remembered as a loving man who cared deeply for his family and friends. He was thoughtful in his words, generous in his actions, and steady in his devotion to those he loved.
