At the Navy Birthday Ball last weekend, SgtMajor James Roberts USMC ret. was presented the Navy League Scroll of Honor by RADM Tom Donaldson USN ret., Council President. He was honored for his years of dedication and outstanding service to the Upstate Young. Marines. James has mentored more than 500 young men and women since 2016. In 2026, the Upstate Young Marines was named the #1 Unit in the country, and one of our Young Marines was named the #1 Young Marine in the country,

HAPPY 251st BIRTHDAY US NAVY!!!

Last night our Council hosted a very successful and fun Navy Birthday Ball at the Poinsett Club in Greenville. Despite the inclement weather, a great crowd helped us celebrate the 251st Birthday of the U.S. Navy and the 250th Birthday of our great country. MC’d by our Council President, RADM Tom Donaldson, USN ret.,and assisted by John Paul Jones and King Neptune,the attendees enjoyed a good meal, learned a little Naval lore and history and were serenaded in sea shanties by the Lake Lubbers from Furman University. Our Youth Programs were well represented and really helped the Council have a successful event. We even had a drone demonstration from the TL Hanna NJROTC Drone Team! A good night was had by all!
