There’s no better way to start the school year than with smiles, encouragement, and a few HIGH FIVES! 🙌🏾

Members of the 100 Black Men of Upstate SC, Inc. were proud to participate in the High Five event at Jesse Bobo Elementary, welcoming students back and reminding them that their community is cheering them on.

These moments may seem small, but our presence matters. When our young people see positive men showing up, encouraging them, and investing in their success, it makes a difference.

This is what mentoring looks like—SHOWING UP! 💯

Last week, the 100 Black Men of the Upstate was honored to partner with Changing Your Mind Ministries during their 2026 Back to School Bash.

Our members had the privilege of helping feed more than 300 children and families while supporting a day dedicated to preparing students for a successful school year.

We appreciate Changing Your Mind Ministries for allowing us to serve alongside them and for the incredible work they continue to do in our community.

Service is at the heart of our mission. Together, we can make a lasting impact by showing up, giving back, and investing in the next generation.

A special thank you goes to Barber Tech Academy from Columbia, South Carolina, for traveling to Greenville to provide FREE haircuts to children and families preparing for the new school year.

Your willingness to give your time and talents helped build confidence, restore smiles, and remind our youth that their community cares about them.
This is what community partnership looks like—organizations coming together to meet real needs and make a lasting impact.

Thank you, Barber Tech Academy, for answering the call to serve. We look forward to working together again!

Together we served. Together we gave. Together we made a difference.

The 100 Black Men of Upstate SC, Inc. was proudly represented today at Piedmont Community Actions in Spartanburg. We had the opportunity to connect with dozens of staff members—including teachers, administrators, and maintenance personnel—who were exploring nonprofit service and networking opportunities for themselves, their children, and their organization.

It was encouraging to see so much interest in mentoring, with many expressing a desire to get their sons involved. We also had meaningful conversations with several gentlemen about collaborating with the 100 Black Men of Upstate SC to expand our impact. In addition, staff from Spartanburg, Union, and Gaffney school districts inquired about bringing mentoring programs and partnerships to their communities.

Together, we continue to build relationships, strengthen communities, and invest in the next generation.

As students return to the classroom, 100 Black Men of America remains committed to ensuring they have the mentorship, encouragement, and support needed to thrive both inside and outside of the classroom.

Success isn't built by education alone. It's strengthened through guidance, leadership, and positive role models who help young people realize their full potential.

Here's to a school year filled with growth, confidence, and achievement.

The 100 Black Men of Upstate SC, Inc. was proud to be represented at the Back to School Educational Summit & Vendor Fair at PowerHouse Christian Church.

Our Senior Vice President, Corey Collington, served as the facilitator for an informative panel discussion featuring educational leaders from Anderson School District 5, including:

* Michael Noble – Principal, Robert Anderson Middle School
* Kory Roberts – Principal, Westside High School
* Dr. Leonard Galloway – Assistant Superintendent of Student Services

Together, the panel shared valuable information with parents, students, and community members on topics including student success, school safety, discipline, academic support, and the importance of strong partnerships between schools and families.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Pastor Lenny Gaines and PowerHouse Christian Church for hosting this outstanding event and for bringing the community together to support students as they prepare for a successful school year.

Educating. Mentoring. Empowering.
