Dear Community Members and Partners,
The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina, Inc. (AMEXCAN) and North Carolina
Latino Education Alliance (NCLEA) invite you to join us for our March NC Latino Education Alliance meeting via ZOOM on Tuesday, March 25th, from 11 AM to 12 PM. We are honored to announce that our guest speaker will be Pitt County Schools’ Superintendent, Dr. Steve Lassiter. The meeting ID: 827 9224 7159 & the passcode: NCLEA25.
Dr. Steve M. Lassiter Jr. was appointed Pitt County Schools Superintendent on November 4, 2024. Since then, he has been focusing on key district priorities, initiatives, and goals, such as strengthening academic programs, enhancing technology in the classroom, improving social-emotional learning, etc. As Dr. Lassiter states “We believe by working together, we can ensure that every child has access to the best education and is equipped with the tools they need to succeed in life.” We encourage you to join us to hear more from Dr. Steve Lassiter on the changes that have been made in the Pitt County Schools System.
The North Carolina Latino Education Alliance exists to establish and develop an
education-based resource network in North Carolina to progress the academic aspirations of the youth. It also aims to connect communities, community-based organizations, and academic institutions across North Carolina by offering a space for resource sharing, networking, and open discussions.
We look forward to your participation as we collectively work towards preparing future
academic achievement goals through high school, college, postsecondary, and career access for workforce alignment. Your presence will certainly add value to this event. For more information regarding this virtual meeting, please feel free to contact AMEXCAN directly, via email at [email protected], or via phone call at (252) 329-0593. We hope that you will join us!
