AidJoy "Thousands of mothers, kids, men and women have benefited from this project.”
Kyra Hamann, United States Embassy Association

Healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and protecting the vulnerable require business development, marketing, and technical resources. When charities spend money, time, and energy on these vital business matters, they divert attention from the frontline where they are most needed (and they are often outside their areas of expertise). AidJoy is a charity comprised of volunteer business professionals

using our skills to create a better world. We are videographers, photographers, leaders for corporate giving programs, marketing, and business development professionals who partner with charities to do the behind-the-scenes work they desperately need. AidJoy ensures the lasting success of charities, and makes the growth of frontline work possible. WAS 1,500 People, IS 9,000 People
AidJoy has been focused on helping Project Amazonas, a charity dedicated to bringing care to the people of the Peruvian Rainforest via medical boats. This charity went from providing care to 1,500 people a year to 9,000 people a year with AidJoy's help. We are also overseeing the financing and construction of a medical facility in the region that will help 45,000 people. But there's still so much more to be done...

How You Can Help
AidJoy prefers to shine light on the charities it assists, but we too have to keep the doors open and the lights on. Between now and December 31st, we will be conducting an online fundraiser so that we can continue to spread the word about Project Amazonas, and take on a series of new micro-projects in the new year. Your support enables us to help other charities shine. There are three ways you can help: donate, share the word, or start your own campaign. Where Your Money Goes
$.90 of every dollar goes to AidJoy’s programs that directly benefit charities. Our network of volunteers donate their time and services, but AidJoy's work also has overhead expenses such as:

* Infrastructure costs including computer equipment and services

* Award winning documentary film production

* Fundraising and web development tools and software

* Food, shelter, and transportation for volunteers when they travel

* Equipment rental for photo and video shoots

* Terabytes of hard drives storing thousands of photographs

* All the other essentials involved in running an organization

We greatly appreciate your donation and support of AidJoy. Our behind-the-scenes heroes cannot continue to do their work without your help. Together we will not let charities fail!

PLEASE READ THIS TO THE VERY END
When you saw this email from me, did a smile pop onto your face? I was smiling and feeling great while crafting this message for you.

What I've been up to:
I’ve been sharpening my skills for bigger successes in my career and laying the groundwork for the next generation of helping teenagers at Benjamin Franklin Experience.

More specifically, I’ve been training with a leader in on-camera performance coaching from Hollywood, learning how to go from stiff and awkward on camera to being that guy you know. Soon I will be making authentic connections with people via videos. People watching me on video will "meet" the Jonathan who’s smiling because I love being with them and doing meaningful work together.

At Benjamin Franklin Experience, we touched on the power of authentic communication. But the world has evolved, and in 2025, making a genuine connection with consumers on video has become essential for success.

My coach is Sandra Dee Robinson. You may know her from The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, and more. Today, she helps professionals find their voice and overcome fears in front of the camera. She is a master instructor in on-camera communication, and I’m thrilled to announce that she’s agreed to share her expertise with my community!

On March 25 at 2 PM EST, Sandra Dee will be leading a LIVE 90-minute webinar/training session, where she’ll put three people in what she calls the “hot seat.” We’ll learn alongside them as she teaches essential skills to present on camera with confidence and authenticity.

This is a rare opportunity. Sandra Dee is limiting attendance to just 200 people to ensure everyone’s questions are answered.

Bonus: You can bring a friend for free! Use the code STUDIOTIME2 at checkout to add a guest at no extra cost.

It’s simple: $47, 90-minutes, gain essential skills, and learn from one of the best.

HERE'S A LINK TO THE REGISTRATION PAGE

I hope you grab a seat, and I’ll see you there!

Hugs,
Jonathan

P.S. If you’re a graduate of Benjamin Franklin Experience, CarolinaPower will buy you a ticket. Yes, our friends at CarolinaPower will cover your ticket! Email Ed Wright with the subject line BFE GRAD - FREE TICKET, and he’ll get you set up. [email protected]

Carl Rogers was a humanistic psychologist who believed that for a person to "grow," they need three things: (1) an environment that provides them with genuineness—openness and self-disclosure; (2) acceptance—being seen with unconditional positive regard; and (3) empathy—being listened to and understood.

These are three of many things we will strive to provide to BFE students this summer. What has helped you grow as a person?
