It's Firework Friday again, and good golly Miss Molly, have we ever been busy in the housing department lately! Please join us in celebrating along with all of these people that are no longer homeless.
*Two men moved out of shelter into an apartment in Kent County.
*Three ladies moved out of shelter into housing in Ionia County - one moved in with a cousin, one moved in with her boyfriend, and one got an apartment with her daughter.
*One couple moved out of shelter and in with a family member in Ingham County.
*A couple and their 2 children found housing in Ingham County.
*One man moved out of shelter into a house in Montcalm County.
*One woman, her son, and two additional men found a house to rent in Montcalm County.
Sixteen people have housing and are now self-supporting again! What great news for all of them and we sincerely hope for the best going forward.
Here's some nice things they said:
"I liked that I was able to make friends."
"I like that they were helpful and not judgmental of my situation or me coming back. The staff was always nice."
"Very helpful"
(front office staff) "actually put in footwork for me. Forever grateful."
"I liked that we were both able to come here and get shelter and have our dogs."
GREAT job staff. You're doing the hard work, putting in the long hours and helping people right where they need it the most. And it shows. As always, a big THANK YOU to our Housing Heroes that support our residents by keeping food on the table and the lights on. Sixteen people made it out of homelessness because you cared enough to support them. We are forever grateful to you.
