One of the best parts about summer is the ice cream! It seems like the members of the Smithfield Historical Society agreed when they held an Ice Cream Social at the Smith-Appleby House 37 years ago!

Our featured artist this month is Annie St. Martin, whose work you can see on display in the library until the end of July. Annie was a gifted artist whose paintings reflect what mattered most to her--from pets and landscapes to meaningful memories. We are deeply saddened to hear of her passing and hope this display honors both her memory and her talent.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Dennis Finlay, President of the Greenville Public Library Board of Trustees.

Dennis was a steadfast GPL supporter and was beloved by many of the staff and patrons here. He served the Town of Smithfield for over 30 years in a variety of roles, including as Town Manager, and leaves a lasting impact on our community.

We will miss his steady presence, thoughtful leadership, and wise counsel. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who knew him.
