Happy Thanksgiving from ECA!

We were so grateful to have over 40 of our swimmers spend their Thanksgiving morning continuing to work on their passion.

As customary for the holiday season the annual Pigeon competition was held for our Senior and Age group swimmers.

Cindy Wang was our winner Senior champion following up here brothers win last year.

For our age group swimmers, Jonathan Hernandez took first place in a close battle with Kyle and Olivia Wang who rounded out our top 3.

ECA swimmers finished up our third meet of the season, the IMX Challenge in Winterville NC, with great success. With just over 60 swimmers competing over the two days, the Gators set over 200 best times across all participants, greater than 60% of all our swims and won 43 of 46 events!

While dozens of swimmers had phenomenal swims all weekend, two stood out.

Ella Strickland went 5/6 on best times, lowering events some events again for the third time already this season. She averaged an almost 20 second drop across those 5 event as she continues to improve in all strokes and distances.

Kyle Wang threw down 5/6 on best times as well gaining 3 new NC 14&U state championship qualifying times. While his 22 second drop in the 200 IM to place him 2nd in the meet was a sight to see his precision and control continues to shine as he dominates in the breaststroke events.
His 1:07.53 in the 100 Breaststroke was just shy of the ECA team record but more impressively it currently ranks him 28th in the nation for the 11-12 year old 100 Breaststroke!

Honorable mentioned are 11 year old Jonathan Hernandez who only competed in one day of the meet to be able to attend the NC A-Team Camp. He set 3 best times highlighted by his 23.63 second drop in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:08.89 to add another NC Age Group Championship Qualifying event to his list.
Dawkins Pahe also went 6 for 6 with double digit drops in many of his events.

Others who dropped time in all of their events were Emma Kleinhans, Olivia Lechene, Julian Chadwick, Luke Clark, Lilly Hass, Collins, Wade, Bodhi Proietto, Franco Prietto, Erin Reichert, Ethan Senaratne, Raenella Senaratne, Charles Merritt, Emerson Merritt, Sophie Moore, Camden Hamilton, Anderson Hammond, Ivan Waters, and Palmer Woodard.

Great job to all our swimmers. There were truly many more who deserved individual praise. The Gators continue to get ready for our big mid-season meet, the Southeastern Classic, in Greenville NC next weekend. We have two more weeks of great training and then cannot wait to share with everyone the continued greatness these young leaders show us every day!

Huge congratulations to Jonathan Hennandez on being selected and attending the NC Swimming A-Team Camp.

This training camp brings together some of the top developing swimmers from across North Carolina for advanced instruction, training and team development. Jonathan‘s hard work, dedication, and consistency have continued to shine as he has continued to progress through the ECA program.

Looking forward to seeing more great things from him as a rapidly maturing swimmer. Congratulations again Jonathan!

ECA swimmers made waves this past weekend at the annual Rock the Blocks meet in Smithfield, NC! Over two days of competition, the team secured over a dozen event wins and achieved close to 100 personal best times.

Four swimmers earned qualifying times for the NC 14&Under Age Group Championships in Cary this February:
Matilda Eldridge
Jonathan Hernandez
Jacob Osenni
Jacob Rusthoven

Special congratulations to Matilda and Jacob Osenni, who are first-time qualifiers with ECA and earned their goal qualifier caps!

Standout Performances
Cole Blanks dominated the pool with a perfect 6-for-6 sweep, winning every event he entered. Vincent Battaglini also had an impressive meet, taking first place in 3 of his 4 events.

Additional event winners included Alice Rusthoven, Paisley-Rhyse McPhail, Hadleigh Kulas, Kate Geiger, and Iris Eldridge.

Two swimmers earned Swimmer of the Meet honors for their exceptional performances: Addie Burns and Lilly Hass. Both demonstrated remarkable improvement and poise throughout the competition while exemplifying what it means to be outstanding teammates.

ECA will be back in action at the IMX invite in Winterville NC on Nov. 1 & 2.
