WAN Guest Night – Monday, March 16th, Speaker: Lori Kirkhoff, Executive Director of IM SAFE Child Advocacy Center
Location: The Winter Inn, 5:30pm
Although guests are welcome at every Women's Action Network meeting, every year our March meeting is designated as Guest Night. Members are encouraged to bring someone who may be interested in learning more about WAN and seeing if our organization is a good fit for them.
Our guest speaker will be Lori Kirkhoff, who will be speaking about the Ionia-Montcalm Secure and Friendly Environment Child Advocacy Center (IMSafeCAC) and the important work they do supporting children and families in our community.
Lori is the founding director of the IM SAFE CAC, as well as the former Chief Assistant Prosecutor of the Ionia County Prosecutor's Office. Lori took the position of Director/Intake Coordinator in October of 2017 as a way to meet her passion to help improve the lives of children. She enjoys working with a multi-disciplinary team committed to this task. Lori holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University and Juris Doctor Degree from Michigan State University College of Law.
WAN meetings generally feature a speaker, a brief discussion of WAN business, and networking opportunities. If you’d like to join us for an upcoming meeting, please 📩 RSVP to [email protected] to save your spot!
More about IMSAFE CAC:
The mission of the Ionia Montcalm Secure and Friendly Environment Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is to protect children from abuse by providing prevention through education and to coordinate multi-disciplinary investigations, assessment, and treatment of child abuse in an environment that is child-sensitive, supportive, and safe.
We serve children ages 2 years old to 17 years old who have been sexually abused, severely physically abused, human trafficked, and children who have been exploited over the internet. The children we serve are also residents of either Ionia or Montcalm County.
