Women's Action Network Women's Action Network typically meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. If you would like to join us at a meeting please RSVP to [email protected].

Women's Action Network meets at 5:30 p.m. on the 3rd Monday of each month. Most meetings are currently held at The Winter Inn, 100 N. Lafayette, Greenville, MI 48838. Reminder: Tomorrow is Guest Night for the Women's Action Network!
Join us Monday, March 16th at 5:30 PM at The Winter Inn dining room. Our speaker will be Lori Kirkhoff, Executive Director of IM SAFE Child Advocacy Center.

Although guests are welcome at every Women's Action Network meeting, every year our March meeting is designated as Guest Night. Members are encouraged to bring someone who may be interested in learning more about WAN and seeing if our organization is a good fit for them.

Our guest speaker will be Lori Kirkhoff, who will be speaking about the Ionia-Montcalm Secure and Friendly Environment Child Advocacy Center (IMSafeCAC) and the important work they do supporting children and families in our community.

Lori is the founding director of the IM SAFE CAC, as well as the former Chief Assistant Prosecutor of the Ionia County Prosecutor's Office. Lori took the position of Director/Intake Coordinator in October of 2017 as a way to meet her passion to help improve the lives of children. She enjoys working with a multi-disciplinary team committed to this task. Lori holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University and Juris Doctor Degree from Michigan State University College of Law.

​​The mission of the Ionia Montcalm Secure and Friendly Environment Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is to protect children from abuse by providing prevention through education and to coordinate multi-disciplinary investigations, assessment, and treatment of child abuse in an environment that is child-sensitive, supportive, and safe.

We serve children ages 2 years old to 17 years old who have been sexually abused, severely physically abused, human trafficked, and children who have been exploited over the internet. The children we serve are also residents of either Ionia or Montcalm County.

We’re excited to welcome Betty Kellenberger as our February speaker. Betty is the oldest women to hike the Appalachian Trail. Come hear Betty’s incredible story.

More about Betty -
Betty Kellenberger and her five sisters grew up in a farming family. She attended Central Michigan University and then taught for 40+ years in Carson City, Michigan. Her summer breaks were filled with traveling, often by bicycle. She pedaled across every state in the US and every province in Canada. Betty has also ridden in China, New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. She’s been on a couple of archeological digs, studied at numerous universities, lead a Boy Scout troop to earn their cycling badge, served four terms in public office before the desire to travel demanded her attention.

📣 Final WAN Meeting of the Year!

Please join us for our last Women’s Action Network meeting of 2025 on Monday, November 17th, at 5:30 PM in The Winter Inn dining room in Greenville, Michigan.

We’ll wrap up the year, share updates, and enjoy time together as we look ahead to 2026.
We’re also honored to welcome our guest speaker, Kristie Smith, the Chief Operating Officer at Corewell Health.

Kristie Smith is the Chief Operating Officer at Corewell Health – Greenville Hospital, where she leads strategic, clinical, and operational initiatives across inpatient and outpatient services. In her role, Kristie has successfully overseen multimillion-dollar capital projects, improved patient experience outcomes, elevated team member engagement, and championed safety and well-being programs that foster a resilient and collaborative culture.

Kristie began her career as a physical therapist after earning both a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Master of Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University. She spent 16 years in private practice in the Greenville and Belding area before joining Spectrum Health’s rehabilitation team, where she held progressive leadership roles. Her tenure in rehabilitation management is marked by program expansion, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to team development.

A recognized leader in healthcare transformation, Kristie is passionate about building strong community partnerships and advancing care delivery. She actively serves on several local boards, including Junior Achievement of Montcalm, Clay Street Center of Greenville, United Way of Ionia and Montcalm Counties, and the Greenville Hospital Foundation.

Outside of work, Kristie enjoys gardening, reading, yoga, and spending quality time with her family.

Tonight’s WAN meeting is moving to Splash Hair Studio! We’re turning it into a fun, impromptu work night painting “No Parking” signs for next year’s annual DF-WAN MarketPlace during the Danish Festival. 🎨

Sandwiches and snacks will be provided — just bring your favorite drink! 🥪✨

💚We want to give a big shout-out to the Girl Scout Troop 4304 for keeping the Marketplace clean during Danish Festival weekend. It was hot, it was hard work, and they still did an amazing job making sure the area stayed tidy and welcoming for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who supported our raffle! Because of you, we reached our fundraising goals. Every ticket purchased helps us continue giving back through scholarships, community projects, and support programs for women in our area.

In just a little over three hours, the park is back to normal and all cleaned up. A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support our vendors and to those who helped make this year’s Danish Festival celebration such a success. We couldn’t have done it without you! Planning is already underway for the 2026 Danish Festival!

If you're interested in potentially joining WAN and would like to attend a meeting as our guest, we will treat you to a complimentary meal at the first meeting.
