The story of how Silver Hoofs 4-H Club 4H advisor Robert Elsner memorial shirt came to be. If you believe in signs, you'll love this story.
Interesting story of believing in signs, when a loved one leaves you. As most of you know, a bunch of us lost a real good friend & 4h advisor back in October. A lot of us were pretty close, especially our horse camping trips. Our Silver Hoofs 4H club decided we wanted to make our club shirt revolve around the memory of Rob.
Here is where it gets weird. I googled in memory of and horse. Of course it showed all these different images; but only 1 with a person with wings and riding a horse and it was a decal on a vehicle. I couldn’t get this image out of my mind. Every time I saw it, I literally felt it was Rob. The stature, hat, just everything. To me, this had to be on our shirt, even if I was the only one seeing this.
Then at our 4h meeting a couple weeks ago, I had more than 1 person make the comment that they thought I had taken a picture of Rob and made his silhouette for the shirt. I realized it wasn’t me; but others saw Rob in this photo. I told them how it was odd because that was the “only” picture like that and most of the time, you’ll see a similar image more than once. Then someone said he must have sent it to me. After that meeting, I strongly believe he sent me this picture.
It gets even crazier. About a week later, Dustin makes the
comment did you realize the horse Rob is riding is Picky? We lost a horse name Picasso, around the same time we lost Rob ….within a few weeks of each other. Even though Picasso was ours, he was kind of Rob’s too; because when we went camping, it was easier to take my horses & he liked Picasso.
Dustin realized that the silhouette of the horse is a quarter horse and not any of Rob’s, which are fjords (draft ponies). We think he sent us that picture of him riding picasso, so we had something with both of them on it to have the memory.
Sorry for any tears this may bring. Miss my friend & our horse.
