Congrats to our Director, GP McLeer who was awarded the "Excellence in Community Outreach" award at this year's Transportation Association of South Carolina's annual conference! The award is in recognition of UMA's study released earlier this year on establishing a Mobility Hub at GSP Airport!

Saluda Grade trail coalition signs contract to purchase historic rail corridor

The Saluda Grade Trail Conservancy has worked over the past 12 months with consulting firm TPD Inc. to gather public input and develop proposals for the trail.

The results of that work will be discussed at public meetings Aug. 6 in North Carolina at Polk County High School starting at 6 p.m. and in South Carolina Aug. 13 at Gramling Methodist Church at 6 p.m.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will host a virtual public meeting to provide an update on the state’s efforts to plan for the future of rail and gather public input on trends, needs, and opportunities that will impact rail over the next 20 years.

The South Carolina Statewide Rail Plan represents a long-term vision of statewide policy to improve freight and passenger rail. The Plan will assess the existing statewide rail system in South Carolina and identify opportunities to enhance rail safety and expand rail service.

The Upstate Mobility Alliance is proud to be co-hosting the 2nd Annual SC Rural Transit Day alongside the SC Local Technical Assistance Program (SCLTAP) and the Transportation Association of SC (TASC).

This year’s event will be held on July 10, 2024 at Clemson University in the Madren Conference Center.

Celebrated nationally, Rural Transit Day highlights the importance of public transit in our nation’s rural communities and their health, vibrancy, education, and workforce.
