Ministry Highlight: The Legacy Center Oakridge🌟

What started as a prayer has become a place where God is changing lives. After many years of serving in Honduras, we prayed that the Lord would provide a place where people would feel loved, welcomed, and encouraged to grow in Christ. In 2020, God answered that prayer, and the Legacy Center was established in Oakridge.

Today, the Legacy Center is home to many ministries that are meeting both physical and spiritual needs in our community. Through the center, we are able to provide:

📚 Education & English Classes
🤝 Teams & Intern Ministry
👫🏽Children & Youth Programs
💜 Roatán Advocacy Center for Women
⛪ Church Planting & Pastoral Training
💞 Addiction & Family Support

Every Bible lesson taught, every medical appointment, every child welcomed, every woman encouraged, and every person discipled is an opportunity to share the hope of Jesus Christ. We are incredibly thankful for God's faithfulness and for each of you who pray, give, and serve alongside us. Because of your partnership, the Legacy Center continues to be a place where lives are transformed and the Gospel is proclaimed.

As we continue looking toward the future, one of our greatest prayers is to pay off the Legacy Center, allowing even more resources to go directly into ministry. We are excited to share that we will soon be announcing details about our upcoming Legacy Gala, a special evening dedicated to celebrating what God has done and raising funds to help retire the remaining debt on the building. Stay tuned for more information, we would love for you to be a part of this exciting opportunity to invest in what God is doing through the Legacy Center in Honduras!

Monday Ministry Highlight! 🌟

At Legacy, we are thankful for the many ways God allows us to serve our community and build relationships with purpose. One of those ways is through English education.

Each year at the Legacy Center, we offer adult classes, children’s classes, one-on-one teaching, and tutoring. Our missionaries also teach English in several local schools each week.

Here on the island, learning English can open doors to better communication and more employment opportunities, especially in tourism. These opportunities can help individuals provide for their families and build toward a more secure future.

English classes also give us the opportunity to spend time with students and build relationships. As we learn and practice together, we are able to know them, encourage them, pray with them, and share the hope and love of Christ. Our goal is that each student would grow in knowledge and confidence, feel known and encouraged, and see the love of Christ through those who teach them.

We are thankful for every missionary, teacher, and volunteer who uses their time and abilities to invest in others. Please continue to pray for Legacy Mission International as we seek to meet practical needs, build lasting relationships, and point others toward Jesus.

🌟 Ministry Highlight: Behind the Scenes 🌟

Not every part of ministry happens in front of a crowd. Some of the most important work happens behind the scenes. From answering emails and scheduling appointments, organizing supplies, cleaning spaces, maintaining our buildings, preparing for teams, managing finances, and countless administrative tasks; these are the things that help make ministry possible every single day.

While these jobs may not always be seen, they create the foundation that allows us to share the Gospel, serve our community, and care for those God places in our path. We're so thankful for every staff member, missionary, intern, volunteer, and supporter who faithfully serves in these often unseen ways. Your willingness to serve behind the scenes is making an eternal impact, even when no one else sees it. Every task, big or small, is an opportunity to serve Christ and further His Kingdom. 🤍

🌟 Ministry Highlight: Discpleship🌟

Discipleship is intentional. It often begins with simple conversations, real friendships, and relationships built over time. Those moments matter because they open the door for trust, encouragement, prayer, and opportunities to point people to Jesus.

True discipleship helps people learn how to follow Christ, study God’s Word for themselves, grow in obedience, and then help others grow in Christ too.

At Legacy, we are thankful for the many ways God allows us to build relationships and make disciples in our community. Sometimes that happens one-on-one. Sometimes it happens through Bible studies, small groups, children’s ministry, seminars or the church.

No matter the setting, our prayer is the same — that people would be known, loved, encouraged, and equipped to follow Jesus.

Seeing lives changed by Christ is such a blessing. We are thankful for every relationship God has allowed us to build, and we are praying that each one becomes an opportunity for deeper discipleship and lasting spiritual growth.

🌟 Ministry Highlight: Interns program! 🌟

This week we want to highlight the incredible interns who come and serve alongside us at Legacy Mission International!

Each year, God brings young men and women with willing hearts who dedicate their time, energy, and talents to serving others. Whether they are helping at the Legacy Center, assisting with ministry programs, serving local families, working with children, supporting outreach efforts, or simply being available wherever there is a need, their impact is felt throughout our community. Interns play such an important role in encouraging our missionaries and helping us carry out the day-to-day ministry that takes place here. They come ready to learn, serve, grow in their faith, and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

One of our favorite things is watching interns build relationships with the people they serve, experience God's work firsthand, and discover how He can use them to make a difference in the lives of others. We are so thankful for every intern who has served with us over the years. Thank you for your servant hearts, your flexibility, and your willingness to step out in faith. Your time here leaves a lasting impact not only on our ministry but also on the people and communities you serve.

🌟Ministry Highlight: Teams Ministry 🌟

One of the greatest blessings of serving with Legacy Mission International is partnering with the many teams who come each year to serve throughout Honduras. We are incredibly thankful for every individual who takes time away from their normal routines to come and be the hands and feet of Jesus in our communities. Throughout the year, teams serve in many different ways: evangelism, children's camps, discipleship classes, local schools, teacher encouragement, church ministries, home visits, medical clinics, community projects, and so much more. Every team brings unique gifts and talents that God uses to impact lives.

What we love most is seeing the relationships that are built. Teams have opportunities to pray with families, encourage local believers, share their testimonies, and walk alongside people in meaningful ways. Time and time again, we have seen God work in mighty ways, using these connections to share the Gospel, strengthen faith, and transform lives. Each team serves alongside a Legacy missionary, allowing them to experience firsthand what God is doing in Honduras while also encouraging and ministering to those serving on the field year-round. Our missionaries are deeply blessed by the friendships, support, and fellowship that teams bring.

🌟 Ministry Highlight: Supporting Teachers 🌟

This week, we are highlighting the incredible teachers in our communities! At Legacy, we truly believe in supporting teachers and local schools in every way possible. Education plays such an important role in shaping the next generation, and we are thankful for the opportunity to come alongside those who dedicate their lives to teaching and investing in children every day.

Many of our missionaries are teachers themselves or work alongside local educators, and it has been a blessing to watch those relationships grow. Over the past several years, we have been able to encourage and support teachers through educational seminars, professional development opportunities, teacher appreciation events, and partnerships with local schools. We believe teachers deserve to be encouraged, equipped, and celebrated. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom, influencing families, communities, and future generations.

One of our greatest prayers is that these relationships open doors to share the love and hope of Christ. Through supporting teachers, we have the opportunity to build meaningful connections, encourage them in their daily lives, and share the Gospel with them and their families. We are thankful for the ways God continues to use this ministry to impact not only classrooms but entire communities.

Please join us in praying for the teachers in our communities as they pour into the lives of their students each day. Pray that they would be encouraged, strengthened, and reminded that they are deeply valued. And pray that God would continue to use these relationships to draw teachers and families closer to Him.

Ministry Moment Monday

This week, we are excited to highlight the girls’ dance group at Legacy.

This group is about so much more than learning choreography. Under the expertise and leadership of Terri Bruno, these girls are growing in confidence, discipline, teamwork, creativity, perseverance, and poise.

Dance gives young girls a meaningful place to learn, express themselves, build friendships, and discover strengths they may not have known they had. Through practice and performance, they are learning how to work hard, receive correction, encourage one another, and grow in both skill and character.

The girls also have opportunities to attend other shows on the island, participate in Bible studies, and be part of other activities that help them continue growing spiritually, socially, and personally. Some of the older girls are even hoping to use what they are learning to teach and encourage younger girls in the community.

Join us in praying for this ministry, for the leaders, and for each girl as she continues to learn, grow, and use her gifts for God’s glory.
