We were honored to join the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce and the P*e Dee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Assault at Francis Marion University for a meaningful event this afternoon. FMU hosted “Profiling Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence,” an expert panel discussion attended by approximately 50 people. SCIP proudly sponsored the event through our South Carolina Sexual Violence Prevention Grant (Francis Marion University is a 2x recipient of our prevention grant). Faculty, staff, and students engaged in thoughtful discussion with our panel, and SCIP valued the opportunity to contribute. We look forward to returning to campus for Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April 2027. Clemson University carried on its Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) activities last night with Alpha Chi Omega’s Walk a Mile event. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes unites communities to raise awareness about sexual violence, challenge harmful attitudes, and encourage everyone—especially men—to actively help build a culture of respect, consent, safety, and prevention. The event was both fun and purposeful. SCIP was grateful to attend alongside hundreds of others in the Quad at Clemson. An added highlight was connecting with Noel Barnwell from Safe Harbor!

Congrats to one of our beloved partners, Safe Harbor, on a phenomenal At the Table Luncheon. It was heartfelt and meaningful, and it showcased the power we have when we take on important issues together as a community.

This work requires institutional commitment. Leadership sets the tone, and no matter your role on campus, you can lead. If you don't want to lead, you can follow, but please believe there is a role for you to play. We are all responsible for making our campuses safe! Let us support your campus through education, prevention resources, and technical assistance.
