Happy Patriots Day! πΊπΈ
Today marks the 251st anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord β April 19, 1775.
On that fateful dawn in Massachusetts, a small band of determined American patriots β farmers, blacksmiths, and minutemen β stood their ground against British regulars. The first shots rang out on Lexington Green, and what Ralph Waldo Emerson would later call "the shot heard 'round the world" echoed from the North Bridge in Concord.
Ordinary citizens, armed with courage and a fierce love of liberty, defied tyranny and sparked the American Revolution. They fought not just for themselves, but for the idea that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights.
Because of their sacrifice on that spring day 251 years ago, a new nation was born β one dedicated to freedom, self-government, and the rule of law.
Let us never forget the price paid by those who came before us. May we honor their legacy by cherishing and defending the liberties they won for us.
God bless America.
