Celebrating Ann and Bill McClung

For 18 years, Ann and Bill McClung have poured their hearts, time, and resources into Pitt Pirate Robotics, shaping not just a program, but countless lives. Their dedication, mentorship, and selfless giving have left a lasting legacy in our community.

Again and again, students have shared stories that begin with, “Before Pitt Pirate Robotics, I didn’t have a voice. I was bullied. I didn’t have a place to belong.” Through this program, they found purpose, confidence, and a sense of belonging. “Pitt Pirate Robotics changed the trajectory of my life,” one student said. And when asked who made the greatest impact, they point to Ann and Bill McClung.

At a reception honoring their service, Bill humbly reflected, “It was always fun to win, but it was never about the competition. It was about students working together, building community, becoming inspired through STEM, having fun, and gaining confidence for their future.”

Ann and Bill, you have done exactly that, and so much more. You’ve built a community where young people feel seen, valued, and empowered to dream big. Your impact will ripple through generations.

Thank you for your unshakable commitment, your compassion, and your belief in the potential of every student. You are truly a blessing to many. ❤️

🎨 Space & Splatters at Bethel School! 🚀

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, third grade students at Bethel School are diving into a world of creativity and expression through a Jackson Pollock-inspired art project led by the talented Ms. Nava.

This two-day “Space and Splatters” experience kicked off with an exciting introduction to splatter painting—where students learned to embrace artistic freedom and explore movement, texture, and expression without boundaries. Master teacher Ms. Nava guided students through the technique with enthusiasm and expertise, unlocking the creativity in every child.

Opportunities like these are only possible because of YOU—our incredible donors. Your support empowers our educators to inspire, innovate, and elevate learning beyond the classroom.

🖌️ Thank you for helping us paint a brighter future for our students. 💙

Ayden Middle School is on the Move!

Thanks to funding from the Pitt County Educational Foundation Impact Grants, exciting things are happening at Ayden Middle School!

Mr. Anthony Wade’s 8th Grade STEM students are putting their creativity and engineering skills to the test in the Junior Solar Sprint competition. Their challenge? Design and build a solar-powered vehicle that races to the finish line using only a 3-watt solar panel! This hands-on experience is teaching students the power of teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation.

Meanwhile, in the music room, Ms. Collis is turning up the volume with her Modern Band class! Thanks to the generous donation of 10 guitars, students now have the chance to learn, play, and express themselves through music in brand-new ways.

From science and sustainability to rhythm and creativity—our students are exploring their passions, building real-world skills, and shining bright.

We’re so proud of our students and staff, and grateful to the Pitt County Educational Foundation and especially to Pecheles Automotive Group for helping us empower the future!

Growing Minds & Gardens at W.H. Robinson!

Our community garden is blooming with life — and learning! Thanks to a generous Impact Grant from the Pitt County Educational Foundation, W.H. Robinson Elementary is now home to a vibrant, ADA-accessible garden filled with spinach, cabbage, tulips, radishes, peas, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, a variety of flowers, and even an herb garden!

This garden is more than soil and seeds — it’s a space for students to explore science, responsibility, and the joy of growing something from the ground up. We’re incredibly grateful to our dedicated teachers and community members who have poured time and love into making this dream a reality.
