Volunteers Needed: A Story That Brings Our Mission Full Circle 💜
For years, Jennifer has volunteered with Let There Be Mom. When she married TJ, she brought him into the action, too! Every year, the two of them help put out road signs, deliver marketing materials to restaurants, and volunteer on Dine Out for Mom day by encouraging supporters to participate in our raffle. You can usually find them at Stella’s Bistro in Simpsonville!
Earlier this year, their connection to Let There Be Mom became even more personal. TJ became one of the dads we serve.
Together, TJ and Jennifer are raising three children. TJ knows firsthand how important it is to preserve his legacy for them. His first wife, the boys’ mom, passed away from breast cancer three years ago. Now, TJ is facing his own life-threatening illness and is on the waiting list for a liver transplant.
He doesn’t want his boys or his stepdaughter to be left without tangible memories of him. He wants them to have pieces of who he is, his special messages, and the family traditions he hopes they’ll carry forward. He wants them to hear, in his own words and with his own quirky style, just how much they mean to him and how deeply he loves them.
Even as TJ waits for a new liver, he’s still volunteering to help with Dine Out for Mom!
Dine Out for Mom is Let There Be Mom’s largest fundraiser and one of the primary ways we’re able to serve families like TJ’s. His continued willingness to give back is a beautiful reminder of what this community means to the families we serve.
Now, we need YOUR help!
We’re looking for volunteers to:
�💜 Spread the word about Dine Out for Mom (social media team)
�💜 Represent Let There Be Mom at participating restaurants on event day (breakfast, lunch & dinner shifts available)
�💜 Pick up marketing materials from restaurants after the event
Every volunteer helps us reach more people, raise more funds, and preserve more legacies.
