Pedaling With A Purpose: Village Wrench and Team Rudolph Merge
Two Greenville nonprofits join forces to help more children and families in need
Greenville, SC – November 21, 2017 – The Village Wrench and Team Rudolph, today announced that they have agreed to merge. Under the agreement, the combined organization will operate as the Village Wrench.
Since its inception, The Village Wrench has aimed to provide sustainable assistance to West Greenville's under-resourced community. “The new partnership will help us extend our reach into the community - particularly younger children - through Team Rudolph's buy-one-give-one program. We envision more children than ever volunteering to earn bikes through the generous bike purchases of the larger Greenville community. It's an ideal collaboration allowing vibrant Greenville's cycling community to get more bikes on the road, reinforce the value of hard work, and create cash flow,” said Wes Whitesell, Director of The Village Wrench.
The merger of Team Rudolph and The Village Wrench will expand the network of volunteers and improve community access to better serve underprivileged children and families in our area. “This partnership will allow us to streamline our resources and efficiencies, as well as provide those in need with better access to bicycles, and bike repair services,” said Matt Rinella, owner of FreeHub Bicycles and a member of Team Rudolph’s Board of Directors. “This is a win for our community,” Rinella added. “Our non-profits are doing complementary work and we are excited to be combining our efforts to have a greater impact on the children and families we serve throughout Greenville.”
An all-day celebration of this merger will be held at the Swamp Rabbit Café and Grocery, located at 205 Cedar Lane Rd, Greenville, on Thursday, December 7th. From 11am – 5pm, we’ll host a “Buy A Bike! Give A Bike!” sale where bikes of all sizes will be available for purchase. Then, from 6 ‘til 10pm the Swamp Rabbit Cafe will help Village Wrench Celebrate by hosting a dance party where they’ll donate 10% of sales.
