Some food for thought from Leviticus 19:33-34 — in these trying times, we must treat everybody with love and advocate for our neighbors. ✨💞🫂

Pictures from our Interfaith Tea Party today! 🫖💐

We talked about the overlap between faith communities and environmental justice, what we can do right now, and what gives us hope for the future in the face of ecological/environmental crisis. 🌎

Thanks so much to everybody who came!

Tomorrow (Wednesday, June 4) we’ll have a little mid-day tea party in our demonstration site garden at Annie’s House with Sustaining Way 🤝💐☕️

All are invited - regardless of your faith or faithless background - as we gather to discuss how we can use what motivates us to be kinder to this planet and the people within it. This week we’ll have a focus on food and faith. We hope to see you there! 💗💫

On a cool, beautiful morning, this past Sunday, April 27th, over 40 people gathered by the Rain Garden along the Reedy River at First Baptist Greenville for a celebration of creation. Throughout the morning, the air was filled with the joyful sounds of birdsong, offering a fitting chorus to our prayers and reflections. 💗💫

We are so grateful to Westminster Presbyterian, Fourth Presbyterian, and First Baptist Greenville for partnering together in this lay-led, interdenominational collaboration.

Special thanks to:
* Bill Holt for his welcome and reflection
* Deborah Schneider for leading us in prayer
* Claire, Hazel, and Melody for their inspiring scripture readings
* Judy McKenney for sharing her beautiful gift of music with “Touch the Earth Lightly”
* Melanie Ruhlman for educating us on the purpose and importance of the Rain Garden
* Rick Joye for leading the closing prayer, sharing next steps, and sending us forth
* And the many volunteers who helped with setup, logistics, sound, parking, and fellowship!

As Sustaining Way’s Founder, Rick Joye, shared in his closing words:
“May we walk with humility and reverence and act with wisdom, living as faithful stewards, recognizing that every step we take is part of the greater web of life. May we feel the Spirit in the wind, the water, the trees, and in the faces of our neighbors—all knit together in God’s great tapestry of creation.”

Following the service, many stayed to enjoy coffee, light breakfast, and fellowship. ☕️

We are grateful for the leadership of the participating churches and excited for the future as faith communities across South Carolina deepen their collaboration to care for creation! ☀️
