Recovery doesn’t look the same for everyone.

For some, it means symptom management. For others, it means connection, purpose, identity, and building a life they choose. How we define recovery shapes everything—from access to services and funding to how individuals are supported on their journey.

Join Mental Health America for a free, live webinar exploring the many perspectives of recovery and why a person-centered, “no wrong door” approach matters.

Whether you’re a clinician, community partner, advocate, or someone with lived experience, this webinar will offer valuable insight into creating systems where every path to recovery is recognized and respected.

Registration is open for the 2026 Lowcountry Mental Health Conference, hosted by Mental Health HEROES, July 29–31, 2026, at the Charleston Gaillard Center.

This annual event has grown into one of the nation’s premier mental health conferences, drawing nearly 1,900 attendees daily (in-person and virtual). The program features nationally recognized clinicians and thought leaders, advanced keynote sessions, pre-conference workshops, and expanded breakout opportunities designed for today’s behavioral health professionals.

Continuing education credits are available for counselors, social workers, psychologists, physicians, nurses, addiction professionals, and other healthcare leaders.

As the primary fundraiser for Mental Health HEROES, conference proceeds directly support individuals in recovery by providing essential needs such as medication assistance, transportation, identification, and basic household items.

Happy ! 🏳️‍🌈

Pride is a celebration of authenticity, resilience, and community. While many LGBTQ+ individuals thrive with the support of family, friends, and affirming communities, they also face unique challenges that can impact mental health, including discrimination, stigma, and social isolation.

These experiences can increase the risk of depression, anxiety, trauma-related stress, and suicidal thoughts. That's why creating safe, welcoming, and affirming spaces matters.

This month—and every month—we encourage providers, educators, families, community leaders, and peers to learn more about the unique mental health needs of LGBTQ+ individuals and help ensure that support is available when and where it is needed.

Everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and connected.
