Check out the progress on our tiny homes!

Soteria is building a tiny home community next door to Soteria House, and we are so grateful to our partners who helped make this happen. Thanks to Greenville Women Giving , Fine Arts Center Architecture , Buncombe Street Methodist Church and all of our committed donors.

This housing option will provide an opportunity for Soteria graduates to live independently while remaining a part of the Soteria community.

Soteria staff had a special treat today! We spent our morning in the Soteria at Work wood shop learning to make cutting boards and bird houses.

Once a month we take a break from our regular routine to do something fun, and today was incredible. The men on the Soteria at Work crew are not only craftsmen - they are patient and wonderful teachers.

He’s got it all!

Oscar’s determination to succeed after incarceration inspires everyone. Since he came to us from prison, he has worked in our woodshop, contributed to our Matching Savings Program that matches $2 for every $1 saved and rewards up to $2000 toward the purchase of an asset, used those savings to purchase a reliable vehicle, and will move into one of Soteria’s first tiny homes this Fall.

Oscar Jimenez spent most of his adult life cycling through prisons across the U.S. He credits God, his little brother and a found family at Soteria for giving him a chance at a new life.
