Washington County Emergency Medical Response Team - EMR Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Team to help save lives and increase response times in rural Washington County. [email protected]

The Washington County Emergency Medical Response Team Fund was created in 2016 through an effort led by the Washington County Emergency Management Services in collaboration with Dr. Robert Corkern, Emergency Room Director at Delta Regional Medical Center. The Washington County Emergency Medical Response Team is a volunteer team committed to the delivery of pre-hospital emergency medical care and the preservation of life through the delivery of pre-hospital emergency medical care and the prevention of injury through community education initiatives. This will greatly increase the response times throughout Washington County. The group has approved by-laws and medical protocols in place and will make a huge difference in the response times throughout our community, especially in the rural areas. Providing a large county, with a busy ambulance service, volunteer service for medical care allows that professional provider to focus on the advanced life support techniques while the volunteer provides needed support, medical care and assistance. By having a system of county residents as medical volunteers --- the county is provided support to an intrinsic medical system that reaches every corner of the county. Donors can contribute to this fund and play a significant role in the improvement of lives right here in Washington County, when they are faced with a medical emergency.

“The memorial for my mother Hannah Lou Stillman will be Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Glendale Baptist Church 11:00 a.m. with fellowship afterwards in the fellowship hall. Please come and celebrate her heavinly homecoming. Come casual dressed and celebrate with family and friends.”

The Washington County Office of Emergency Management is pleased to announce an addition to our staff. Sara Moreland Hester has joined us as a Deputy Director. Sara Moreland is a member of the Washington County Emergency Medical Response Team, Leland Volunteer Fire Department, Indian Mounds Volunteer Fire Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Rescue, as well as a mom of 3. We are excited to have her on board with us in the OEM office. Her wealth of knowledge already obtained through her volunteering efforts in past years will be a huge benefit to our residents. We believe she will be a huge asset to the people of Washington County as she continues to grow and learn and apply the knowledge and experience to help the residents.

As director of this EMR group and someone who has been there from planning of and the inception of the same, I can honestly say WE have some of the BEST MEMBERS OF ANY ORGANIZATION AROUND. For those who could show up today, they showed up and showed out. Hi marks from all the command staff on scene.
