Yesterday we said good bye 💔 to the one that is the epitome of Canine Healing Project, our girl, Noble Nessie 👑.
She was everything our program stands for and more. She was a stray picked up on the streets by animal control and found herself at the shelter. They estimated her age to be 8 or 9 and she was a hot mess!
Somehow we were the lucky ones to give her that second chance. She instantly won over our team at Noble Dog and we knew right then she wasn’t going anywhere.
Nessie started her therapy dog work shortly after. She absolutely shined in this role, so much so that she was always “on” therapy duty. Whether one of us had a bad day, she was there. Many of us brought in new pups over the years- she was there. Several employees had human babies- she was right there. Any event we took her to- she was ready. A steady presence of strength, love and comfort, always. Even in the times she was struggling.
As she got older she dealt with pain in her back and hips, reoccurring UTIs and some dementia. But she was always there with her love. She touched countless lives in our community, at Noble Dog, and she imprinted a monster size paw on the hearts of those that loved and cared for her.
We have no doubt she will continue to watch over us as she always did ❤️.
She will forever be missed. Thank you for being the North Star ⭐️ of Canine Healing Project, Nessie!
Fly high our angel, you earned those wings! 🌈🪽❤️
