Rotary Four-Way Test

1.Is it the TRUTH?
2.Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3.Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4.Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? Rotary is made up of three parts: at the heart of Rotary are our clubs, who are supported by Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation. Rotary International supports Rotary clubs worldwide by coordinating global programs, campaig

ns, and initiatives. The Rotary Foundation uses generous donations to fund projects by Rotarians and our partners in communities around the world. As a nonprofit, all of the Foundation's funding comes from voluntary contributions made by Rotarians and friends who share our vision of a better world. Together, Rotary clubs, Rotary International, and The Rotary Foundation work to make lasting improvements in our communities and around the world.

Congratulations to the Rotary Four-Way Speech Winners!

Standing in front of a room full of strangers and sharing a speech that reflects personal values, experiences, and perspectives takes incredible courage. These students demonstrated poise, confidence, and thoughtfulness well beyond their years.

We are so proud of each of you and grateful to Greenville City Schools for encouraging students to develop strong voices grounded in the principles of the Four-Way Test. Well done!

On Monday, March 3rd three (3) Greenville students participated in the 4-Way Speech Contest. Each participant was required to prepare and memorize a speech 4 to 6 minutes long on a topic of their choice. They had to display an understanding of Rotary's 4-Way Test by applying their topic to the test.

The Rotary 4-Way Test is:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Senior Kamdon Riethman applied the test to the sport of football. Junior Alexa Robinson spoke on bullying. Senior Callee Moore used the 4-Way Test to stress the importance of seatbelt safety. All three students did an exceptional job and made it difficult for the judges to choose a winner.

Callee Moore, daughter of Josh and Mary Lee Moore, was tapped as this year's winner and will represent the Greenville Rotary Club at the Rotary District 6670 competition at Wright State University on Sunday, March 30th. Good luck, Callee!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Many of us are blessed with all we need this holiday but there are many more that are not. Please consider giving when you see these kettles throughout Darke County. 100% of donations stay local and benefit organizations such as Community Unity, Grace Resurrection Community Center, and multiple food banks.

Adopted by Rotary in 1943, The Four-Way Test is still relevant today and transcends generations and national boundaries. Not based on culture or religion, The Four-Way Test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and asks the following essential questions of the things we think, say or do:

1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

The Four-Way Test has captured the imaginations of generations of Rotarians as a simple checklist to help ensure that we are applying this positive and powerful code to how we try to live our lives and serve others.

Each year, the Greenville Rotary Club partners with Greenville High School to solicit students to participate in the 4-Way Test Speech Contest. High school students must prepare, memorize, and present a speech utilizing the principles of the 4-Way Test.

This year's winner is Callee Moore. She is a junior at Greenville High School and is the daughter of Josh and Mary Lee Moore. She will represent the Greenville Rotary Club at the district contest on Sunday, March 10th at Wright State University.

Congratulations to Callee!
