Founded in 1985, our mission is to strengthen, support, and advance public education in Greenville County.

We champion teachers, equip families, and advance collaboration. Formerly The Alliance for Quality Education, Public Education Partners works exclusively to improve public education in Greenville County by engaging the community in supporting programs to increase student achievement and in advocating for excellence in K-12 education. A local education fund established in 1985, Public Education Partners helps teachers and students keep pace with the increasing demands of the 21st century.

This week, we’re excited to celebrate Tiffany Reeves of the CTE Innovation Center! With the support of a PEP Up! Your Practice grant, she will be attending the NICE K12 Conference March 7-9, 2027, in New Orleans.

"I teach networking and cybersecurity at the CTE level, and one of my biggest challenges is keeping my curriculum current in a field that changes constantly," she said. "The NICE K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference is the only national conference built specifically for K–12 cybersecurity educators…”

We’re excited to see what new ideas and strategies Tiffany brings back to the classroom to share with her students. Congratulations, Tiffany!

Join us the day before Early Voting opens to meet candidates in the upcoming elections for Greenville County Schools Board of Trustees at the only nonpartisan, countywide Meet & Greet event. Candidates for each of the contested races (Areas 18, 20, 22, and 26) are expected to participate, and all candidates have been invited to join us and share their priorities and platforms. Miranda Broach, an English teacher at J.L. Mann High School, has been selected to attend the Palmetto State Literacy Association Conference in February, thanks to a PEP Up! Your Practice Grant.

As a veteran teacher, Miranda says she’s always looking for ways to refine her teaching. She said it’s been a number of years since she attended a high school-level literacy conference, and she’s excited for the chance to discover new strategies for connecting with and supporting her students.

She’s especially looking forward to learning how to make reading more engaging in a tech-centered world, explore effective ways to use AI in the classroom, and bring fresh approaches to differentiation, student-led learning, and literacy instruction back to her students.

We love seeing teachers who are still asking, “What can I learn next?” and then putting that learning to work for their students. Congratulations, Miranda!!

We were so glad to be part of Gateway Elementary School’s first Literacy Night on Thursday!

More than 200 students and their families came out for an evening filled with a guest author, fun literacy activities and, of course, a special book to take home from PEP.

And when it came time to choose a book, Pete the Cat was a popular pick! 🐾Thank you to the Gateway family for all their hard work in planning this event! 💜

Fifth grade math teacher Cara Nyvall is using her PEP Up! Your Classroom Grant to bring new measurement activities to about 90 students at Sterling School this year.

With the help of their five new measuring wheels, her students will get to explore length, area, surface area, and volume through real-world projects, first with a “Measurement Bonanza” this fall and then with a “Design Proposal Project” in the spring.

We’re excited to see where Cara’s students take this work! Congratulations, Cara! 💜

Stack it. Build it. Move it!

This week, we’re celebrating Jamie Quattlebaum, a PE teacher at Robert E. Cashion Elementary School! She is using her PEP Up! Your Classroom grant to bring cup stacking to her 900 students as a way to help them work on coordination and reaction time. She has plans to combine the cup stacking with running, creative challenges, and student-built designs.

For Jamie, the new activity is a lesson she can share to help students discover that there are lots of ways to move, be active, and be healthy. She’s shown here with PEP’s Taylor McLeer and Principal Ryan Streetman. Congratulations, Jamie!
