USCAVA Story
The Upstate Chapter of the South Carolina Association for Volunteer Administration, otherwise known as USCAVA serves the upstate of South Carolina, specifically Greenville, Spartanburg, York, and Cherokee counties. USCAVA, the oldest SCAVA affiliate (South Carolina for Volunteer Administration), was organized in 1976 as a professional organization for volunteer administrators in Greenville County.
USCAVA offers a resource network and skill development opportunities for both new and experienced administrators. Members also benefit from the informal exchange of ideas and the supportive atmosphere of USCAVA. Round table discussions cover such areas as legislative issues, teen volunteer programs, and the profession and future of Volunteer Administration.
In addition to regular meetings, USCAVA sponsors professional workshops on issues regarding volunteer administration. Volunteer recruiting and motivation, time and stress management, media relations, and conflict resolution are just a few examples of programs that have been offered in recent years.
Community service agencies, hospitals, and educational facilities are some of the organizations represented in USCAVA. Please contact us at Becky Clement at [email protected] for more information.
