A sweet treat and an even sweeter act of kindness! A huge thank you to Healthcare IT Leaders for volunteering at Camp Buddy and treating campers to an ice cream bar!

Camp Buddy is a special summer camp designed for children ages 6–12 living with Type 1 diabetes, providing a safe, supportive environment where they can build confidence, make lasting friendships, and simply enjoy being kids. We are so grateful for community partners who give their time to create moments of joy and help make camp an unforgettable experience.

One year ago, Gwen entered the world at just 24 weeks. She spent eight weeks in B.K. Bryan Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family and the care of our incredible team.

Yesterday, on what would have been Gwen's first birthday, her family traveled from Virginia to honor her in a beautiful way. They brought treats to thank our NICU staff, delivered a birthday basket for the first baby admitted to the NICU that day, and donated more than 70 care bags for families with babies born before 30 weeks.

Through unimaginable loss, Gwen's family has chosen to create hope for others. Their kindness will comfort families navigating one of the most difficult journeys imaginable and ensure Gwen's legacy lives on through every act of compassion.

Thank you to Gwen's family for reminding us that love knows no bounds and that even the smallest lives leave an immeasurable impact. 💜
