Hello All:

I am writing to encourage you to invite your partners, club mates, and friends to volunteer as real-people dancers at the Montréal GCA Caller school. Additionally, please ask them to join us for the graduation dance this Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

[The school is Saturday June 27 2pm to Tuesday June 30 evening in Salon A-C. The graduation Dance is Wednesday July 1 9am in the Drummond Ballroom with 27 students calling!]

I know this is a long shot, but the San Francisco Bay Area needs more callers. Most of the club callers are calling 3, 4, or even 5 times a week. It's difficult to find a substitute when we need a week off. To exacerbate the situation, many of you know that I'll be moving away to KC, MO later this year.

If anyone has considered moving to this area, there would be some immediate opportunities available to you. Ideally you have some reasonable experience under your belt. We have some really great new callers just getting started but not ready to be a club caller or teach classes.

It's certainly not cheap to live here, but you already know that. If you (or someone you know) have considered moving here and might be interested in learning more about the area square dance scene, please reach out.

Esteemed 'The Call Sheet' Editor Allan Hurst has extended the time for the article submission deadline to OCTOBER 1. He REALLY would like input from our membership for interesting articles, comments, your square dance related doings, and photos.

His contact information is on the Gay Callers Association website under 'Meet the Board' or the membership roster available to current paid members.

This is our publication, and needs our input!

GCA Group Photo is scheduled for Friday at 9:15 am before the Opening Ceremonies.

Please be at Foothill C (2nd floor of the hotel just off the atrium) by 9:05 am to ensure we can get setup on stage promptly at 9:15.

After the photo, you can proceed to Golden Gate A-B on the B2 level, 2 floors down for the Opening Ceremonies.
