Hope Afield welcomed Lt. Gagliardi and Sgt. Powell of the Greenville Police Department to begin our afternoon activities. These officers discussed some of the dangers of social media, the importance of making wise choices and answered questions about how to become an officer, the duties of an officer and why they wanted to be an officer. Thank you Sgt. Powell and Lt. Gagliardi for your service to our community and for sharing with us today.
Students enjoyed red light, green light basketball style, gaga ball and a special treat of riding the horses. In life application, we discussed “Dealing with Feelings”. Our Biblical examples were David and Saul in I Samuel 24. David learned to control his feelings towards Saul rather than take revenge. David trusted God to help him.
We are extremely grateful for our volunteers who mentor our students, help with set up, clean up, serving, driving the bus and assisting with activities. Thank you to Robert Powell, Russell Demings, Pam Holp, Debbie Jean Owens, Abi Grant, Jessica Maddox, Ronnie Matthews, Dale Brannon, Deidre Herbert and Dalton McGuire for your help this afternoon.
