This morning, 12 volunteers braved the heat ☀️🔥 to help make Greenville County a cleaner place to be. They removed an estimated 320 pounds of litter from the Lake Robinson area. Round of applause 👏

Our friends over at @ Trout Unlimited Mountain Bridge Chapter #46 are inviting the public to join their upcoming Adopt-A-Highway cleanup efforts!

⚠ Please note: This event is independently organized and managed entirely by Trout Unlimited Mountain Bridge Chapter #46. We are proudly sharing this information to support local community litter reduction efforts.

⌚ Time: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM (Both cleanups last about an hour and a half)
📍 Meeting Location: The paved pull-off area at 5434 Geer Hwy, Cleveland, SC 29635.

📋 Details: This is part of the SCDOT Adopt-a-Highway program. Volunteers will be removing litter from the right-of-way of Geer Hwy.

🌳 More about the area & safety:
· Speed limit in the area is 55mph, with an average daily traffic of 4,200 vehicles. Please use caution when parking and arriving.
· Due to safety regulations, all volunteers must be at least 13 years old.
· Volunteers are required to wear closed-toe shoes.
· Please note there are no restrooms on-site.

🚗 What to bring: The chapter will provide orange safety vests and trash bags, but please bring your own work gloves! Don’t forget your water, sunscreen, and bug spray.

Small hands, HUGE impact! 🌍✨

We want to send a giant THANK YOU to the amazing young kids from the Eastside YMCA! They spent their time doing a neighborhood cleanup, clearing an estimated 140 pounds of litter from Corey Burn Park and the surrounding streets in just one single hour.

Our community is brighter and cleaner because of your hard work. You're never too young to make a difference! 💚👏

A massive thank you to the incredible team from Homewood Suites by Hilton Greenville Downtown! 🏨✨

These rockstars woke up extra early to beat the summer heat and dedicated their morning to a litter cleanup in the Brandon Mill Community. In just over an hour, this powerhouse of volunteers removed an estimated 165lbs of litter! 🛑🚮

Litter doesn't just stay put! 🌧️➡️🌊

The Greenville County Litter Ends Here team spent an amazing day at Roper Mountain Science Center for their STEM Days of Summer event! We had a blast teaching kids and adults alike about the journey of trash through our local watershed.

The big takeaway? Rainwater carries roadside litter straight into our creeks, rivers, and lakes—where it does the most damage and becomes incredibly tough to clean up.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our station to learn how we can keep our waterways pristine! 🤝✨

June is Zero Tolerance for Litter Month across South Carolina, and Greenville County is proud to join the statewide effort!

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office, Greenville County Litter Ends Here, and PalmettoPride are joining forces to remind everyone to Haul Smart and make sure your stuff is secure.

State Law Requires Secured Loads (SC Code 56-5-4100.
Driving with an unsecured load is a misdemeanor in South Carolina. Drivers are legally required to use tight coverings, cargo nets, bungee cords, or tarps to prevent items from falling onto roadways.

Why does this matter?

🚫 It Prevents Litter: A staggering 20% of roadway litter in SC comes from unsecured loads. Nationally, Keep America Beautiful estimates one billion pieces of litter come from unsecured loads.

🛑 It Saves Lives: Unsecured loads create dangerous road hazards. The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety estimates that road debris contributes to as many as 50,000 crashes, 10,000 injuries, and 125 deaths every single year.

Huge shoutout to the Woodmont Middle School Beta Club! 🌟 These fantastic students rolled up their sleeves and cleared an estimated 250 pounds of litter from their school grounds and surrounding neighborhood today.

Thank you to the @ Rotary Club of the Reedy River Greenville for their litter cleanup of Conestee Lake Road! 🌲🗑️

They stopped more than 8 bags of trash from washing into the Reedy River, cleaning the area right before the upcoming rainy weather.

Thank you for protecting our watershed! 🙌

The Reedy River Greenville Rotary club members, with a guest member from the new Rolling Green Village companion club, Rick Hawkins, picked up track along Conestee Lake Road today. Eight bags of trash were removed from the environment.
