29 veterans received oral healthcare at the ECU School of Dental Medicine Brunswick County Community Service Learning Center. Thanks to donor support through the Smiles for Veterans program, more than $12,500 worth of care was provided at no cost to the patients during the event.

Thank you to the donors who help make Camp Needles in the Pines possible.

We are proud to support such an important experience for children living with Type 1 diabetes in eastern North Carolina.

ICYMI: Camp Needles in the Pines gives children with Type 1 diabetes a traditional summer camp experience where they can build confidence, independence and lasting friendships. Founded in 1985, the camp welcomes children ages 8 to 14 for a week of kayaking, swimming, climbing, crafts and connection with others who understand life with Type 1 diabetes.

Supported by the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, ECU Health and the ECU Health Foundation, the camp continues to make a meaningful impact for families across the region.

A generous commitment from the North Carolina Dental Society Foundation will help fund the ECU School of Dental Medicine Smiles for Veterans events at Ross Hall and the Community Service Learning Centers through 2026.

The NCDS Foundation officially became a co-sponsor at the recent Smiles for Veterans event at the CSLC in Lillington, where 23 veterans were able to receive oral healthcare at no cost to them.

Since launching in 2018, the Smiles for Veterans program has provided more than $260,000 worth of oral healthcare to veterans across North Carolina. Thank you to the NCDS Foundation and other Smiles for Veterans donors for your continued support of this vital program!
