Hello Greenville AYSO friends and families,

I wanted to touch base with all of you to let you know that we are still in need of a Regional Commissioner and a Treasurer in order to move forward with the spring season. If we cannot find volunteers within Greenville who are willing to step in as Regional Commissioner and as treasurer (these roles must be filled by two separate people) by 12pm tomorrow, 3/05/24, we unfortunately will not be able to move forward with a spring season and Greenville AYSO will likely close its region for good.

If we cannot find the necessary volunteers to keep the program running, we will begin the process tomorrow of cancelling registrations and issuing refunds. Cedar Springs AYSO and the Greenville Rec program have both offered to take any players who have registered with Greenville so that the kids can still play soccer.

You can expect to receive a communication by 1pm tomorrow with the final decision. If you are interested in either necessary position, please complete the Google form included below. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Greetings Greenville Friends and Families,

We hope this email finds you well! We’re reaching out to inform you that we find ourselves in an interesting situation. Our Greenville region is struggling with empty board positions and our program cannot continue without at least 3 critical board positions being filled. And as much as we love this program, we can no longer sustain this region with outside assistance. The time has come for those who know Greenville best, to step in and help run this region.

How can you help? AYSO cannot function without the help of volunteers as we are an entirely Volunteer run program. We need to fill the required roles of Regional Commissioner, Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate and Treasurer (job descriptions for each role are included below). We also in need of a Coach Administrator, Referee Administrator, Registrar, and Safety Director. It is critical that we fill these roles quickly, as we cannot run a Spring season without these roles being filled.

Each of these roles helps set Greenville up for success, not only for this season, but for years to come. We would love to keep Greenville open so that every child that wants a place to play in a Safe, Fun and Fair environment has that opportunity. And who better to take on these roles than those of you who know your community and its needs best. Below you’ll find a Google Form. If you have any interest in joining the staff for Region 1471, please complete the form so that we can follow up with you.

We know the task we’re presenting can seem incredibly intimidating, but our Area staff is standing by, ready to assist as needed. Unfortunately, our Area staff is also running other regions or assisting in other regions and can no longer serve as staff in Greenville. But we will not leave Greenville to the wolves if we can get a board put together. You will have resources available for each position so that we can set you up for success.

Without a board in place by March 15th, we will have to cancel the spring season and it is likely that the Greenville region will be closed. We want to continue to offer a program that we love so much within Greenville, however, we can no longer do it alone. For all our teams at the Area 8A Fall 4v4 Tournament in Grant today, here is the final game schedule, teams list and field map.

For those not playing on a team, we would still love to have you join us in Grant to cheer on our players as they go head to head against other Area 8A teams. It should be a lot of fun.

Quick reminder...if you participated in our Frandale Subs fundraiser, the subs, garlic bread, and cinnamon rolls have been delivered and should be picked up tonight between 5:30-7:30 pm in the AYSO-side of the storage barn. (All orders are labeled with the seller's name.)
Please note: All orders must be picked up tonight as we do not have enough cold storage to store items.

Attention all Greenville AYSO players in age divisions 10U and above: Registration is currently open for the Area 8A Halloween Classic 4v4 Tournament, which is being held in Grant, MI. Teams should consist of 4-5 players in the same age division, with a cost per player of $25.00 ($22.25 registration fee + $2.75 transaction fee). Greenville AYSO players currently registered for the Fall 2023 soccer season can register now through October 4th at www.aysoregion1471greenvillesoccer.org.
