🙏🏾 Remembering Dorie Miller 🙏🏾

On this day, we honor Dorie Miller, a brave Navy cook who became a hero during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Miller manned anti-aircraft guns and helped rescue wounded sailors, despite having no formal training. He received the Navy Cross for his courageous actions and became a symbol of resilience and bravery.

At Vernon Veteran Services Inc., we understand that the mental health impact of serving in combat can be profound, especially for veterans like Miller, who faced systemic barriers. Our mission is to provide resources and support for veterans dealing with PTSD and anxiety and Depression.

🌟 Honoring the Legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen 🌟

Today, we celebrate the Tuskegee Airmen, the first Black military aviators in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Despite facing racial discrimination and segregation, these brave men demonstrated exceptional skill and courage during World War II, paving the way for future generations of Black service members.

At Vernon Veteran Services Inc., we recognize the unique challenges that veterans, particularly those from marginalized communities, may face in their mental health journeys. Our innovative recreational therapy programs aim to empower veterans battling PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Let’s honor the sacrifices of the Tuskegee Airmen by fostering a supportive community where all veterans can connect, heal, and reclaim their lives.
