ZONTA Club of Greenville serves the community through volunteerism and fundraising. We believe in making the world a better place by empowering women.

With educational grants and donations to local charities, we advance our mission to improve gender equality and end violence against women and children. We find joy in doing this in a supportive community of like-minded professionals from diverse
countries and cultures. We advocate for equality, education and an end to child marriage and gender-based violence.

Today, as we observe the International Day of the Girl, we honor the promise, strength and potential of every girl around the globe.

In 2026, the International Day of the Girl puts a spotlight on one of the most urgent barriers to girls’ rights: child marriage. Under the theme “End child marriage and invest in girls’ rights!”, this year’s celebrations call for renewed action to protect girls’ freedom, expand their opportunities and ensure they have a say in the decisions that shape their lives.

Zonta Club of Greenville is accepting applications for the 2027 Young Women in Leadership Award. Zonta International offers 37 international awards of $5000 each while our club will award $500 to the applicant we choose to forward to the district level. The 2027 Krewe of Ruffus dog paw-rade date will be announced at the end of November when we hear back from Greenville County.

In the meantime, NOW is an excellent time of year to buy costumes because of the Halloween season! As you can "sea", the theme is all things ocean! From pirates to Poseidon, and sea creatures to The Little Mermaid, there is ample room for your creative flair! We know you are up to the task!

The Costume Contest Winners for the 2026 Mystic Krewe of Ruffus Dog Paw-rade are:

Third Runner Up: Cameron and Oliver Cotto with Seamus, dressed as Mermaid Man, Patrick Star & SpongeBob!

Second Runner Up: Annie McFall with Molly, dressed as Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf in Grandma's Clothing!

First Runner Up: Niki Clark with Snoopy, dressed as The Wizard of Oz's Wicked Witch of the West and her flying monkey!

Best in Show: Daniel and Nikita Myburgh and Ane' Roos with Bailey, Pepper and Astrid, dressed in Alice in Wonderland theme!

There were so many awesome costumes, the judges had a very hard time deciding! We will be posting more photos on our website soon.
