Welcome to the Mississippi Delta Nature and Learning Center home to the Heart and Soul Children's Garden, Boundless Adventures Course, Rising Roots Youth Farm, and Blues Bend Trail System. We're working to care for the earth and the people who live here.
The Heart and Soul Children's Garden is a 3 acre play space for ages 1-12 that encourages open ended play, critical thinking, respectful engagement with the natural world, and information about food production and ecosystems.
The Boundless Adventures Course is a low ropes course or obstacle course, that is great for all ages to increase balance, strength, and coordination. We offer a facilitated team building experience for organizations, businesses, and sports teams.
The Heart and Soul Children's Garden and Boundless Adventures Course are open Tuesday-Saturday 9:00-5:00 and $5 admission will give you access to all the areas plus an art project that changes each month. If you'd like to purchase a membership admission is free to these venues. We offer hands on science field trips for grades PreK-12 more information is available online at www.msdeltanature.org.
The Rising Roots Youth Farm is a 1/2 acre market farm that engages youth in food production, the past, present and future of our food system, and regular opportunities to serve in the community. The Blues Bend Trail System is a 1/2 mile and 1 mile loop that takes you through wildflower meadows and wooded areas. Adjacent to the trail is the Seeds of Freedom Pavilion and Delta Heritage Garden where you can learn about important milestones in food production and food justice in the Mississippi Delta. The Heritage Garden highlights the many cultures that have contributed to the local food scene in our community. All of these are are free to the public and open dawn to dusk daily.
Seasonal events include the Outdoor Adventure Summer Camp, an Easter Egg Hunt, Pumpkin Patch, Haunted Trail, and Christmas Trail.
