As we continue providing affirming healthcare, mental health support and community resources throughout the Upstate, we’re looking for an Executive Director who is passionate about LGBTQ+ wellness, community impact and organizational growth.

This is a part time, hybrid role that we anticipate rapidly growing into a full-time position.

Key responsibilities will include:
Fundraising and Revenue Development
Operations and Program Oversight
Community Engagement and Development of Partnerships

Upstate SC is ready to sparkle — and honestly, by the time you read this, you’ve probably already missed a dozen Pride events. 🌈

SC could not wait for June, so Pride season is officially in motion. From festivals and socials to drag, wellness, remembrance, advocacy, and connection — there are so many ways to show up, celebrate, and be together!

QWC is especially excited for Community Pride Fair THIS weekend and Pridefest the next. We can’t wait to see everyone out in community, taking up joyful space, supporting local q***r organizers, and making the Upstate shine.

And as QWC prepares to scale, grow, and step into our next cycle of care — we need you.

All of our clinical services are provided free of charge because community members, donors, and partners make that possible. Monthly donors help us plan ahead, expand access, sustain life-saving and identity-affirming services, and keep showing up for LGBTQ+ people across the Upstate.

💜🏳️‍🌈👇 your favorite LGBTQ+-friendly therapists, doctors, clinics, support groups, and community organizations!

Let’s help people find care where they feel safe, respected, and supported. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and for many LGBTQ+ people, mental health support can be life-changing.

LGBTQ+ individuals experience significantly higher rates of anxiety, depression, trauma, and suicidal ideation, not because of who we are, but because of the stigma, discrimination, isolation, and barriers to care that so many people still face.

And that’s why affirming support matters. 💜

The right therapist, provider, support group, mentor, or even community space can make a real difference in someone’s life. Feeling seen, respected, and safe in healthcare and mental health spaces shouldn’t be rare. As May comes to a close, we want to help highlight affirming resources in our community.

We are deeply grateful to QWC’s founders for the foundation they built and the countless lives impacted through their leadership, compassion, and vision.
As QWC is entering a new season of transition, growth, and opportunity, we want our community to hear this clearly:
QWC is not closing. Our mission remains strong, and our programs and services are continuing as we work toward building a more sustainable future for LGBTQ+ people across the Upstate.
Beginning June 1:
🏳️‍⚧️ LEAP + BLOOM will temporarily meet at Re:Center (1925 Pelham Rd)
💙 Prisma care will continue with the same affirming providers
📦 Our resource closet will be temporarily paused during this transition
As we move into this next chapter, the Board of Directors is actively working toward securing long-term leadership and a permanent future home for QWC.
Thank you for your trust, patience, and continued support. We remain hopeful, committed, and energized for the work ahead.

A message from the Founders:

After much reflection and with full hearts, we want to share that we will be stepping down from our official roles of support at the Q***r Wellness Center, effective May 1, 2026.

What began as a simple but deeply held vision: to create a space rooted in affirmation, care, and belonging has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined. It has become a living, breathing community. Every conversation, every moment of vulnerability, every act of care has helped shape 864Pride and then the Q***r Wellness Center into what it is today. We are continually moved by the trust you placed in us, especially in those early days, and by the many hands and hearts that continue to carry this work forward.

This community has always been, and will always be, the true foundation of the Q***r Wellness Center. You are its spirit, its resilience, and its purpose.

As we step into this transition, we do so with genuine excitement and deep peace. The organization is in a place of strength and clarity, guided by a Board whose dedication and vision inspire us. We have full confidence that the Center will continue to grow in ways that are thoughtful, expansive, and rooted in care. Truly, we believe the most meaningful chapters are still to come.
Being part of building this space alongside all of you has been one of the greatest honors of our lives. We carry immense gratitude for every story shared, every challenge navigated together, and every moment of connection that made this work so meaningful.

Thank you for showing up, for believing in this vision, and for helping create something that will continue to support and uplift so many.

We will continue our support and service to the Board through the end of May 2026 to support a smooth and successful transition. We look forward to updating the community soon.
